If you are looking for a pool, glamor, water front, etc. don't stay here. This is just a classic old style type Florida motor lodge. The kind of place I stayed at as a kid a hundred years ago (just kidding). This is really like a 3 room studio apartment with two beds, sofa and chair, table and two chairs;...

First the good news -The price, $95/night in the Keys is a great deal. Someone took great care in decorating with stencils and sponge technique making the room quite attractive. The kitchenette was adequate with a microwave, hot plate, 2 (small) cup coffee maker, small fridge and sink with all the kitchenware you would need. And the 50's looking tiled...

Clean room with full kitchen and nice, hospitable inn keeper. Nothing fancy and no water access, but clean, homey room, good rates and centrally located in the keys. The only downfalls were the loud plastic mattress pad, dim lighting and clogged bathroom sink (but there was sink in the kitchen). I would DEFINITELY stay here again and recommend to anyone...

Clean, newly renovated rooms are a delight to get some sleep in. The lurch area is fully stocked with everything from pots and a microwave. They even have spoons! I really do enjoy the charm of this hidden gem. At $95 a night is the most affordable down in the keys as well. They need irons in the room though....

Thanks for your review and I am glad you enjoyed your stay. We do have irons and hair dryers for the asking. We do not use irons in the Keys much. With our humidity the wrinkles fall out in 5 minuets ! Thanks again. Anita Gassner Sandpiper Manager

Very excited that we found the Sand Piper...we arrived in Marathon without a room booked after taking off on an impromptu trip and it provided all the amenities we needed at a fantastic price (for the Keys).

The size of the room and bed, the cleanliness were the best things that we can see. Really this is the best price near Key West, is not possible found better relation cost/benefits there The manager of the motel is a good person, genial, and helpful mainly if you are pet lovers. The room is near the highway, but we...

Oh my, this tiny 9 room motel in Marathon was built in the 1950's, originally called The Peach Motel and has early Keys flavor. Our room #7 was upstairs surrounded by lush flora. It has double beds (crunchy, could they have been stuffed with straw? but we slept ok) with a table and chairs in front of a mirrored door...

We stumbled across the Sandpiper Motel late in the evening when we badly needed a place after learning that all B&B's in Key West were booked up. The eccentric "cat lady" manager was a hoot and extremely accommodating. The room was large and had a small kitchen. It is a very old motel and the amenities are spare, but the...
