This was our second trip to the Pelican, and we loved it! While the property is a little older, the rooms have been redone and are nice. The location is great - quiet, central and right on the water. If you are looking for a typical "resort" - then forget it. This place has charm, and not the typical hustle and bustle of resorts. That said, they are part of the Poscard Resort next door, which has the restaurant, Tiki Bar, entertainment, and marina - plus another two pools. Jasmine at the front desk was wonderful, and we were surprised to find a nice Anniversary gift in our room waiting for us! Communication was great - through their text system, and while there was no housekeeping due to COVID, they supplied us with anything we needed right away. Complimentary breakfast is light - bagels and cereal, etc., but was enough to get started. Pool and Cindy at the bar is FANTASTIC! Make sure you ask her for her special "Pelican" drink ;-) Make sure to get a room on the third floor for the best view, and the higher the number - the better the view/location. Jasmine gave us the best room in the place - you'll have to ask! Overall, a memorable week, with a great staff, on a quiet property, with great location, good weather, and nice amenities. We'll be back.....

Photo views from the ocean front rooms are from the 3rd floor. We were on the 2nd so the view was not so spectacular. Nice and quiet the way I expected to be. I expected free wifi, beds made in between days and a better free breakfast. I must say their coffee was good in and out the room.

Website was inaccurate - there was no restaurant on the premises; lack of housekeeping was provided in a letter when checking in - not explained during the reservation process or discussed when checking in. I can understand that during this pandemic housekeeping will not come in your room but there should be an automatic process to have fresh supplies left at the door every day and time for garbage pick up- we had to call down to the desk to arrange all of this.

Dear Dldamato, Thank you for staying with us and taking the time to share your comments. Please allow me to apologize for the lack of communication you mention. Unfortunately, due to Covid, we are not allowed to service your room on a daily basis. We are more than happy to provide all of our guests extra items that they need for their rooms while staying with us. I'm sorry that this was not explained in a better manner. I hope that if you are ever in Islamorada again you give us another opportunity to show you the level of service that is synonymous with Pelican Cove Resort. All the best for the New Year. The Pelican is a very nice hotel in beautiful Islamorada. It was very quiet while we were there, which was perfect. We booked an ocean front room, which I highly recommend. The balcony serves as an extra living space, so my husband had a place to hang out while my daughter and I were getting ready to go out. The room itself was fine - air conditioning unit was very loud, which is an issue if you're using the sofa bed in the living area. Otherwise, everything in the room was great. The grounds are beautiful - you can use paddle boards, kayaks, bikes. Plenty of beach chairs and room at the pool while we were there. Really nice staff too. You can use all of the facilities at the Postcard Inn too. That resort has a much more lively vibe, but we liked the quiet of the Pelican. We would absolutely go back.

This is our 3rd trip to Pelican Cove and Sara made it an unforgettable one! Sara greeted us at check in and when she found out that not only were we repeat guests but it was also our anniversary, she went above and beyond to make us feel special on our anniversary. Her positive can do attitude are qualities that everyone in the hospitality industry should have. Thank you so much Sara!!!
