The waterfront setting is beautiful at this smaller, palm-studded mom n pop resort on Islamorada. There is no sandy beach, as is the case with most places in the Keys, but there's a little marina with boardwalks where people fish and watch the big iguanas take a sun bath. They rent boats there too. Five of us enjoyed the 1-bedroom apartment on the second floor with a nice screened-in porch view of the water (we brought an air mattress as we had an extra fifth person and we figured they'd be out of rollaways, which was true). It has a kitchen with the basics (we would recommend they switch to nonstick frying pans) and a four-person dining table next to a living room with a TV. What brought our review rating seriously down was that the toilet broke the first of our two days there. The office sent over the "maintenance guys" in the morning after our first night, and they managed to get the toilet to flush. However, by later than night it had broken again, and when we asked for it to be fixed on our second morning, no one ever came. We had to use the bathroom downstairs over at the swimming pool. We were being charged more than $300 a night, and I expected better service, of course. The toilet is just too old, we concluded. A sign on the office desk indicates that things may break, and they will try to fix them. A little odd. If you stay here and get assigned to Room 209, make sure they've installed a new toilet!

The fact is that when you stated that only two guests were reserved and then you sneak in additional 3 without paying. The toilet issues were caused by you and then turn it around for a free stay is sad. We serviced it and still you managed to break it again we have videos taken right before check ins in oder to avoid this type of nonsense. So nice try good luck in your endeavors

We actually booked our trip at the last minute. We didn't do any research whatsoever, and for our surprise, the room we had is very clean, 2 beds, a separate room with a living room and kitchenette. We had the pool side with a screened porch. Just to keep in mind, if you are booking on a third party, watch out for the additional fees they are posting or just directly contact the resort and they can tell you if there is any additional fees. The exterior of the resort is great and clean, and the view on the beach side is spectacular to relax. The pool is always clean and warm all the time. The resort has a marina to either dock/launch or rent a boat. Just relaxing by the beach area, we've seen all kinds of wildlife. The service staff are very friendly and informative. For families that love to go boating or just want to relax, we highly recommend this resort for their great service, cleanliness, and good price!

The motel itself is pretty decent. The pool was refreshing, our room was clean & spacious, & the location is nice. However, the 2-bedroom master suite is NOT as advertised on the website. The description of this room on the website says it sleeps 8, and there are 2 king beds in each bedroom, plus 2 sleeper sofas. This is not the case! The room has only one king bed in each bedroom, and the sofas are regular sofas, not pullout//sleeper sofas. So, the room actually only sleeps 4 people. I had 6 people in my group. When I addressed this issue with the staff, they were not helpful at all. First, the motel staff was unwilling to acknowledge that the website description was inaccurate, even when I showed it to them. Then, when I asked for a second rollaway bed to be provided free of charge to sleep my second child, the staff refused to provide it..and said I would have to pay $30 if I wanted a second rollaway. I had 6 people in my group, and only had 2 beds, plus 1 rollaway. I would have been content with my experience here if it wasn’t for the rudeness of the staff and their unwillingness to acknowledge their mistake in falsely advertising the room that I booked based on their website description. I asked to speak to a manager, and never was given the opportunity, yet was told by the staff that the manager was the one that insisted I would not be given a second rollaway. The dishwasher in our unit was also broken. And the iguanas are out of control. You cannot walk out onto the dock area without them closing in on you from both sides (we counted more than 20 in plain site at one time).

Sadly, my family and I had a horrible experience here which is such a shame because we have been staying at Breezy Palms for almost 30 years. This was such a terrible experience, it replaced so many good memories and we will never be back. We asked for one of our rooms to be on the 1st floor but when we checked in, we were given two second floor rooms. My elderly parents could not do the stairs all week. They found one first floor room for them to move into the next day. That night the air stopped working and the temperature got to 80° in the room. Maintenance tried to fix it but couldn't so for 2 days the room was extremely warm. They brought in a portable ac unit but that didn't do much only cooling the room to 79°. They said they were sold out and couldn't move us and refused to give any money back. They replaced the ac unit two days later so we had to be out of the room for most of the day and there was dirt and screws and construction materials left on the floor around where the crew was working. The people in the office felt it was perfectly acceptable to charge us full price (you have to prepay in full) and treated us like we were the problem for asking for a room that had working ac. Horrible customer service, no apology, not one dollar returned to us. As long as nothing goes wrong, you'll probably be fine here. But if there's an issue with your room, don't expect any kindness or sense of urgency to resolve it. They'll probably leave a snarky response to this review about how we were the problem but I think that reflects on them and proves the terrible customer service they display. Think twice about booking here, it could be you that has an issue with your stay and absolutely no repercussion when the employees refuse to help you or even speak to you or give any kind of refund.

Hello, We dont take this site serious because it is a place that allows anyone to say anything and it is sad. First you have not been coming to this property for 30 years ( FACT ) also you were upset on day one that you made an error in your reservation and wanted a ground floor, the staff made every attempt to change you and that was accomplished. The picture is not from the unit in question ..... that was for the non renovated unit and since your departure has been renovated. Also you were provided a portable 9000 BTU AC that according to a member of your party( btw 6 people in the room that only reflected 2 on the reservation so you never paid the additional 3rd 4th 5th and 6th guest in the room surprisingly that is not mentioned) said that was perfect and they understood the ac has just stopped cooling the Service guy came within 20 minutes and it was determined that the unit had burned up.... ( NOTE THAT THE SETTING WAS SET TO 59 DEGREES ) The staff went to the unit an offer a room change YOU DECLINED TWICE .... The AC came the following morning and you all just sat in the room the entire time as the tech was replacing the unit. Not once you mentioned compensation Not once you seemed upset to the contrary..... Now for whatever reason here we are.....The manager went to the unit and apologize twice for the AC and offer to move you and again you declined... It is imperative that people say the truth but when entitle people don't get what the want ( which we had no idea since it was never mentioned ) you use this unregulated sites to complain very sad. I am glad you have decided not to return as we have determined that we are refusing service moving forward. We wish people were honest...... We do recognize the AC broke, it took 32 hours to be replaced and you were offered options ...... GOOD luck in your endeavors

Took the boat and stayed in Bungalow 301. Room is OK but the updated fridge is very small and for fishing it's not big enough for bait and keeping your catch.
Now that there is a boat rental company operating out of this resort it's busier than it used to be with the vendor's truck gassing up the the rental boats etc.
The boat must be moored bow to dock, which is a bit more difficult than if it could moor parallel to dock. Also, the boat slips needed to be identified better to see what the slip numbers are from the water. The small saltwater 'beach' area needs to be cleaned of the accumulated seaweed on a regular basis.
The palm trees and sand area are nice for relaxing to gaze at the water, just lots of movement going on with people and boats coming and going. The updated rooms are better now with no carpeting. Our room had a leak after a short rain shower. Had two cockroaches one night in the kitchen. Since I asked for two keys to the room (old fashioned hard keys in the bungalows) we didn't have housekeeping service and if I had known this I would've given up one key for that day.

I am glad I decided to judge Breezy Palms for myself after reading some of the bad experiences others have shared here. We stayed for 3 nights in Room 203 and the only complaint I would have is the loud cars on the highway which is expected considering the location of the resort. The decor is older (retro 1985 if I’m not mistaken) but some of the cushions, patio furniture and beds are newer. Our bedding was crisp, clean and white as well as our towels. Room was clean. Kitchen cabinets and microwave too. Carpeting is old but clean. The property is well kept with fresh paint on the buildings and Adirondack chairs by the water. All the lawn chairs were newer and in good, clean condition. The water view is beautiful and the sunrises are picture perfect. Pool area is also well kept and clean. We only used the fridge and coffee maker so if anything else is broken I wouldn’t know. There were some other guests sharing some problems at the front desk like a stove not working or a room not being cleaned. But I do not know how/if those were resolved. We didn’t bring our boat, but the boat slips were in good shape and the boat ramp too. The a/c blew nice and cold and the water was strong and hot. The staff at the front desk was nice and accommodating and we did not interact with anyone else. The location is perfect since we were 3-4 miles from everything we wanted to do.

Fabulous stay in Small Utility Room 305, this unit has been recently renovated and is very nicely presented with a great mid week view of ocean due to lack of cars in car park. Resort and the staff fabulous as always, fishing from the pier was a lot of fun too; sale of frozen bait in reception was a real bonus. Maybe a little on the small side for us Brits with all our masses of luggage, the pool and ocean view units offer a little more space to spread out, but absolutely ideal for a short break of 2-3 nights. That said, there was plenty of space to store cases beneath bed so with a little more suitcase planning we would certainly rebook this room as the rate was great. Already booked for next September but now considering an earlier visit too; we just can’t wait to return!

I've been coming to Islamorada for 7 years and have stayed at the Islander Resort and Bayside Townhomes in the past, but the prices are getting ridiculous for those places now. I will admit that I was hesitant about staying at Breezy Palms based on some negative reviews and the price (it was half the cost as others so I had low expectations), but I was pleasantly surprised and would stay here again! If you're looking for a reasonable rate with good amenities, this is your place. After talking to some local guides, they even recommend Breezy Palms to their friends and family.

Check-in was quick and we had no troubles during our stay. Plenty of parking. We stayed in room 103, which has been updated, so that also helps with my first impression. Big rooms, plenty of space in the living room to hang out with friends, and a full kitchen so you can cook your own food and freeze your fish to take home. The living space is a huge bonus! I also liked having a first floor room to walk right out to the pool. The grounds were clean and well maintained. Yes, the marina gets some seaweed, but that's to be expected anywhere with a tide. The resort tried their best to rake it away each day.

Being in a room closer to the road, I could hear traffic at night, but I got used to it after a couple of days. Also, it took a while for the shower to get hot, so once I figured that out, I just started the water while I finished my coffee and hopped in once it was ready.

You can walk to Lazy Days or Square Grouper restaurants from the hotel. If you want to go further, download the Freebee app. It's like Uber and totally free! No need to drive!

I didn't use any other services from the hotel, like the boat rentals, so I can't comment on that, but it did look convenient if you wanted to go out to the sandbar or Alligator Light for a day. There's no on-site bars and restaurants or fancy infinity pools, but if you just want a clean room at a good price with a great view, this is your place. I have no problem recommending it to others now that I've seen it myself, so don't let other reviews scare you! The only reason that I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because it's not a full-service "resort" like the other places we've stayed, but I knew that going in and felt like this was a great value.

Very clean basic accommodation. Helpful friendly staff.
We had 2 rooms one was smaller but recently updated so modern with a very large superking bed.
The other room was actually a suite. Much older but very clean and spacious with a huge balcony. There were 2 double beds in this suite ,a simple kitchen and seating area plus dining table .
There is no kettle ,however free coffee is available at reception
No hairdryer either. Shower and bath very good with plenty of hot water
There is a small beach and jetty with palm trees which is a lovely spot. There was an iguana sunbathing on the rocks and a few pelicans nearby too.
A mix up at check in required us to pay our balance in cash despite my credit card being charged. However upon checking out this was corrected and my credit card was refunded.
Overall a good experience and we would stay here again.
Thank you breezy palms for our stay

I booked via Booking.com and recieved a confirmation code for a non refundable room for the full duration of my trip. When I arrived at the hotel I was told they had no booking for me in their system despite my confirmation from Booking.com. After over half an hour I was told they had no confirmation of a booking and that I was on a reserve list. It was late at night, I had travelled all day. I'd confirmed the booking over a month before arriving. I was told that I should have called them at Breezy Palms to confirm. Booking.com gave no such instruction.

I heard the guy on reception speaking with the owner/manager and she told him - we're full, tell her she can have one night. I was then told that other people staying were long standing customers who were prioritised. GREAT!

I was left with a huge problem of finding somewhere to stay for nearly 3 weeks in peak season... when I went to reception the next day it was filled with unhappy people complaining (must have been 10/12 people) and two stressed looking staff members.

The reason this review has a rating of 2 and not zero is because they did put me up for one night (my booking was or 20 nights) and didn't charge me. The hotel is friendly but very tired and in need of renovation. Mid range pricing for a budget hotel.

While I was in Islamorada I was told that this hotel had done the same thing to other people too. I would suggest Breezy Palms get their house in order! figure out your system because I'm sure that after Covid you need all the reservations you can get!

Closest grocery store would be the Trading Post. It is open 24/7 and has a good selection of food. There's also a Publix on Islamorada a little further away. The Freebee shuttle will take you to both locations. Download the Freebee app and sign up for an account so you don't have to drive yourself!
