We recently stayed at this cute little gem in the Islamorada vicinity and couldn’t be happier with the experience. The resort is a serene, quiet retreat with a beautiful little beach, perfect for a relaxing getaway. We loved that they offered kayaks and paddle boards for guests to use – a great way to explore the surrounding waters.

The cleanliness of the resort was impeccable, and our room was beautifully decorated with charming beach accents, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The location is fantastic, with many restaurants and attractions nearby, making it easy to enjoy all that Islamorada has to offer.

We highly recommend this resort for anyone looking for a low key, peaceful and picturesque stay in the Florida Keys.

We spent 4 days at this motel; it was actually the best stay on our Florida tour. The hotel has a very nice facility. The street in front of the hotel is not noticeable, at least if you have your room further back. The staff/operators are very friendly and helpful. Parking is available directly on site or directly below or next to the room.

Our room was quasi right on the jetty or overlooking the water. The rooms are very large and offer plenty of space for a family. There are various fast food chains in the vicinity. Supermarkets such as Publix can also be reached by car within 3-5 minutes. Opposite the complex there is a laundromat where you can wash your laundry quickly and professionally.

We can recommend this motel and would definitely book it again on our next Florida trip.

My husband and I just returned from our stay at La Jolla in Islamorada.
Beautiful, quiet resort, that made us feel like we were one of a very few in residence. The evenings are so peaceful, with a magnificent view of the waning sun. The resort is unspoiled with lush vegetation and oceanfront so you can do all types of water activities, from fishing to kayaking, to snorkeling. Our room, D, was a bungalow, with a kitchenette and two bedrooms with queen beds. Each bedroom had a small bathroom with a small shower. There was a small living space with a couch, and flat screen TV. The living area led out to a large walkout deck that directly faced the ocean, about 100 feet from our room. All of the rooms at
La Jolla are tucked in and around the ocean. So if you don't stay in a bungalow, you should still get a close up view of the ocean.
There is no restaurant on the property, but there is a keurig in the room with coffee pods, so you can get your morning coffee. There is a wonderful diner, Mike's Mangrove, a stone's throw from the property.
It is open everyday beginning at 6:00 am. Great diner food.
La Jolla's front desk is open from 8 am-8pm, they have extra keurig pods and bottled water and can answer any questions you have. There are a lot of great local restaurants close by, we did not have a bad meal during the time we were there. A variety of cuisines and you won't break the bank. La Jolla itself is reasonably priced; considering the high cost of lodging of the area. There is a lot of choices for hotels in the Florida Keys, La Jolla stands out for it's untouched, quiet, and relaxed vibe. Plus it's affordability makes it rise above other hotel options.
If you are lucky you will see the large orange iguana that greeted us on the first day, along with the friendliest black cat - who has taken up residence on site - and many pelicans, gulls, egrets that inhabit the space.
It is a wonderful place.

This is a very basic needs style of lodging. Several buildings consisting of 4 units. Strong disinfectant odor upon entering the room required windows to be opened to ventilate. Dated, industrial feel. Beds average at best. 3 star is accurate. The 4+ star rating here is a mystery to me. The location is very good with restaurants and bars in walking distance the beach area is very nice.

The resort has lovely waterfront views. A huge plus was free availability of kayaks, SUP's and bikes. The grounds are well kept. Our accommodation was very clean. We stayed in the Bahia Lodge which had a huge, well-supplied kitchen and living area. The best part was the enormous covered patio with ample furniture, a new grill and spectacular ocean view. One HUGE word of caution to would-be guests of the Bahia Lodge: the La Jolla website advertises "four comfortable bedrooms" and "two spacious bathrooms". In fact, the master bedroom is the largest and the only one with beach views. The others are smaller, and one is particularly small with just a bunk bed. The bathrooms: the only one pictured on the website is attached to the master bedroom. It is absolutely huge and luxurious with a giant walk-in closet attached. The other bathroom (not shown in photos) is extremely small and in need of renovation. The toilet didn't flush properly. If a group of adults were sharing this house, it would be grossly unfair for one couple to have the palatial master suite while the others make do with the remaining spartan bedrooms and tiny old bathroom. Okay for parents and kids perhaps, but groups of adults beware.

After leaving Miami we had 2 nights at La Jolla on our way to Key West.
Check in was easy and our room was nicely decorated with a fidge, microwave, good machine etc and the bed was comfy too.
We enjoyed the waterfront location, had a swim and used the kayaks for an hour which were complimentary, new looking pedal bikes were also available.
Although the pool was small it was clean and refreshing.
The brewery across the street has a great selection of craft beers and a large shaded gardens and was family friendly with games for the kids.
The road noise may bother some people, for us it was OK as we live by a busy road at home.
Overall it was a great stay for us at a reasonable price, cheers!

We stayed in the Bahia house. The property is beautiful, and the main part of the house and master bedroom/bathroom are very nice. The staff were amazing. They came every day to re-stock toilet paper, paper towels, kitchen and bath towels, made the beds, changed the sheets every few days, and they took out the trash as well. There is a washer/dryer at the house also. The resort offers kayaks, paddleboards and bikes for guest use at no additional cost, and there is a small pool. Now for the cons. The mattresses in the 3 additional bedrooms are very uncomfortable and squeak horribly. . We did not get great sleep as you would expect on vacation, and there is a reason there are no pictures past the main part of the house online. The toilets are also not very comfortable for adults. The kitchen has great appliances, but isn't well stocked if you want to cook meals there. The outdoor seating area is nice, but the furniture definitely needs cushions like the house next door, and the beach chairs could also use cushions for comfort.

Fantastic experience this past weekend at La Jolla. First, they upgraded our room from the 2 bedroom to a 3 bedroom lodge. The extra space came in handy when it rained a bit on Saturday. Every member of the staff were extremely helpful and pleasant, going out of their way to assist. The location can't be beat, right across the street from a brewery with a beer garden, within walking distance to several restaurants, and within several miles from everything in Islamorada. And the water view, this is why you come to the Florida Keys (well that and fishing). We weren't brave enough to try the Kayaks this time, but we hope to be back in the summer and will definitely give them a go then.

Overall, I highly recommend this resort and we will be repeat customers from now on.

If I could give this 2 1/2 stars I would, but that’s not an option. The motel is in a very central location in Islamorada, and it has a nice waterfront location.

We had a Bayview room on the second floor, however, the view itself was obscured by the windows, which were quite dirty, and had paint on them. The buildings are very old and in need of some updating. Our flat blinds were falling down and had to be put up each night before we went to bed . The walls are also paper thin so you do hear your neighbors, however, it is relatively quiet there.

The room itself was very tiny, but the bathroom was even tinier. There isn’t a lot of space to put your things.

The staff was very friendly for the most part and some more exceptional.

They do offer the free use of kayaks and paddle boards and bicycles, but you do get what you pay for. We wound up renting bicycles from a different place.

I don’t think we would return here but if you know what you’re getting into, I think this could work for some
