Amara Cay Resort is anchored in the laid-back style and carefree atmosphere that makes Islamorada the Sport Fishing Capital of the World. Reflecting the easy tranquility of the Upper Keys, Amara Cay Resort seamlessly blends recreation with relaxation. Hammocks dot the sandy shoreline, palm trees sway in the breeze and a shimmering oceanfront pool beckons early risers. It's no wonder Amara Cay was named the winner of the 2015 Sandi Design award for Design Excellence Hospitality by the International Interior Design Association, which recognized our expert balance of relaxed atmosphere and luxurious style.

The Amara Cay is absolutely the most peaceful and beautiful property we've had the pleasure to stay at in the Keys. Located in Islamorada, its on the ocean side with stunning views, swaying palms and cozy hammocks hanging between them. There are gas fire pits at night. A beautiful, heated walk-in pool. A huge tiki bar with plenty of seating to order drinks and food from. The chicken sandwich and zucchini fries are delicious. The rooms are clean and have a beach chic decor. They offer paddle boarding and kayaking. One of its outstanding amenities is the staff, Kenneth and Sophia are exceptional!!! They always remember our names and greet us with smiles. They make sure we have everything we need or desire. We can't wait to get back!

Nice rooms and remodeling. Way understaffed. Food is ok but service is extremely slow. Kind if ruins the vacation mood. Check in process could also improve to have access before 4pm.. kind of late. Was promised a room upgrade that I did not receive.

Great resort in a great location! Bike, kayak, and paddle board rentals were free to hotel guests and the resort was biking/walking distance from everything on the island! This resort overlooked the ocean and had a great pool and beach. The hotel was very clean and up to date. Our only complaint was that the on site restaurant was very gross but there were many great restaurants close to the resort.
