We were extremely disappointed with all aspects of our stay in a Queen room at the Merlin. The checking in process was a very strange encounter with an unusual man. He did not take us to our room. The bedroom was smelly. It did not contain a refrigerator or a wardrobe. There was no room to get out of the...

We are saddened by your comments. I know that Key West is not an inexpensive destination, but perhaps staying at a full service resort instead of booking the room with the lowest price point at a small guesthouse would better meet with your expectations. It isn't customary for a front desk agent to leave his post at the front desk...

While the room we had was small and close to the street, it more than satisfied our needs. The morning continental breakfast by the pool was just perfect. Location and staff could not have been any better. Now that we know they have more rooms in the back we know what to look for.

Can't say enough positive things about this hotel! We stayed in room 6 for 4 nights and although it was small, it was very clean and comfortable. Kenneth, Linda and Micheall are all wonderful employees who answered all questions and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. Breakfast served outside by the pool was the same every morning,...

Great place to stay if visiting Key West. One block from Duval Street (excellent location). Breakfast was great. Stayed here for three days, and we will go back on our next visit. Staff was very courteous and helpful. Room was clean.

We spent 6 nights here and enjoyed our stay. Our King room (17) was perfectly located in a little nook. Our room must have been recently redone; it was really nice. The bathroom is really nice and big, but has just a normal tub/shower (in case that's important to you - no big shower or tub). The air conditioning unit...

We stayed in room 19 and that is a very nice room for two nights with the upstairs bedroom loft and then moved to room 14 for one night which was fine but not quite as well put together as our previous room. The hotel is doing some upgrades to the property and will be prettier once those have been...

Wonderfully situated hotel to all you want to see in old town Key West. Close to many good eateries. Hotel itself is well maintained and clean. The house cat, Jordan, will be sure to give you a warm welcome. Staff equally as friendly. Would definitely stay there again.

Stayed here a couple of nights. Room 20 is nice and big - away from the worst street noise. As many hotels in tropical areas they are struggling with mouldish smell from the wooden furnitures in the room. As frequent travelers we experience that high maintenance can avoid the bad odeur. But even though room was clean it's clear that...

Sorry to hear that you perceived a "lack of passion," because our owner and those of us who are lucky enough to work for the Merlin Guest House are committed to providing our guests with an authentic Key West experience with friendly service, comfortable accommodations, and competitive prices. There is plenty of lush tropical foliage throughout the property and public...
