A truly excellent B&B with the perfect location in Gainesville. The hosts could not have been any more accommodating, loaning me his bike and helmet, extending their gym membership to my wife and me as well as accommodating our dietary needs. In addition to the comfortable accommodations, the lively discussions made me feel right at home?

Our stay at the Laurel Oak Inn the weekend of 8/16 and 8/17/13 was simply lovely. The Victorian antiques and architecture, the garden and two fountains, the hummingbird feeder, (with a visit from a ruby throated hummingbird), the food and our hosts were wonderful. Thank you Monta and Peggy for giving us a window on Gainesville and the Victorians.

As we entered through the kitchen door, we knew we were in the right place. We were greeted by our hosts, Peggy and Monta, who provided gracious, professional service throughout our stay. We stayed in the Lavender room and enjoyed the porch, where we drank a glass of wine while we watched the moon and then sipped our coffee in...

Oh My! We have stayed in a lot of different bed and breakfast inns and I can honestly say this one has been the best!! We were just getting away for a break from the farm and found Laurel Oak Inn. From the time we were met at the door, we were shown south Georgia style hospitality at its best!...

We were visiting friends nearby and stayed here for4 nights a while back. I am glad I found it on here because we had really fond memories and would really recommend it to friends. Lovely old setting, great typical American open hearted welcome and food that was well above the usual standard.

I was visiting my undergrad daughter at the U. of Florida overnight & decided to try the bed & breakfast option instead of the usual chain hotel selections, and I am glad I did. Located in the prettiest little Victorian neighborhood you can picture, the Laurel Oak Inn is a destination in and of itself. Nicer than the photographs if...

Before my daughter started middle school we wanted to do an overnight together. The Laurel Oak Inn was beautiful, restful and local! We enjoyed the old fashioned ambiance with all the modern luxuries. Peggy even lent us a computer to watch a video. We slept in and enjoyed coffee, homemade scones and fresh fruit for breakfast (we were offered quiche...

We decided to stay here for our wedding anniversary. We live in town, but thought it would be fun to leave the teens at home and enjoy an evening to ourselves. I researched all the B & Bs in town but chose the Laurel Oak because it seemed more quaint....only five guest rooms. We were very pleased with our choice....

I loved every minute of our stay at this Gainesville Inn. We felt very welcomed by our gracious host Monta (Peggy was elsewhere). The room was clean and nicely appointed. Bed and bathroom were very clean, nice touches such as full sized bottles of Aveda shampoo and conditioner, they would hate the waste of small bottles! All the beds are...

Do yourself and your spouse a favor if your ever in the Gainesville area and stay here! Its close to everything, the inn is beautiful and the rates are very fair ( especially during football season). The hosts are quite accommodating from a cold beer being offered after a long drive upon your arrival to the delicious home made quiche...
