Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very nice staff very ghetto hotel. This hotel is at most a 2 star. It is old, run down but clean. I purchased the reservation on Hotwire and the description said “beach front.” This hotel is not beach front. Lots of noise at night on one end of the hotel. So if you decide to stay here ask for a room as far away from the pool as you can get.

Not a five-star spot in terms of just the looks, but a cheap option with great staff. Went for a weekend, the staff were super friendly and helpful and we enjoyed the pool. Staff were very relaxed about pool use and let the guests have fun, as long as no one was being bothered.

I booked this place as an exchange within a timeshare. I needed to stay a week in the area and there weren’t many options so I tried my luck. I was surprised that most of what was said was the exact opposite. The front desk staff was nice with every encounter. The room was clean but yes there needs to be some updates. There were no bugs at least in my room I only saw them in the basement area where the workout equipment is kept. The area is very close to the beach. Less than a 5 min walk. The complaints about the area being dangerous. Didn’t see it. It’s basically beach front. There are displaced individuals but that’s all over the area. Literally in front of luxury residences and businesses. I’ve stayed at 5 star resorts and if that’s what you’re looking for this isn’t it but it’s a good clean place to stay with all the basic amenities without frills. hot tub deck is closed, people were constantly using the pool Needs updates- dishwasher drawers were rusted out and broken, spots on sofa, carpet was dated only in bedroom but not dirty visually Linens were clean, yes might get a mix of beige and white towels but clean and fluffy, there is a thin sheet type bed cover, used blanket from closet Beds are firm but comfortable not one person on bed or Murphy bed complained. I laid on both and was fine. Sofa bed that’s another issue. Mattress was newer but not comfortable. You do have to rearrange room to use both Murphy bed and sofa bed. I just slid couch down and moved single seat beside it. Bathroom- clean, water is yellow but that’s throughout Ft. Lauderdale Also a good mention is it’s between a state park and a garden so there’s plenty of nature.

I didn’t know what to expect from this hotel. It is not a resort. They have a very tiny front desk area. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The room is decent for an older style place. The room appeared to be clean and someone took some time to arrange it nicely, the bathroom was super small I didn’t like the towels being placed right next to the sink as the towels get wet and it’s not very hygienic. They should put the towels in the closet on a clean liner or invest in an inexpensive towel rack. The TV was very small, but acceptable the bed was a bit hard for my taste, but OK. This place is fine for an economy stay.

Spent two nights at this property in November. It was recommended by a friend who used to live in the neighborhood. I didn't make a reservation, just walked in (weekdays) and paid just over $100 including taxes. This appears to be the going rate these days. The property, which can be best described as a motel, is a pretty typical south Florida property. The air-conditioning, hot water, refrigerator all worked fine. The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. Perfectly fine for budget travelers. I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. Would stay here again for sure.

This hotel is not ideal but not expensive- not bad if on a budget. You will have to walk up to light, across the street and through buildings to get to the beach. It’s walking distance to Ft L by the Sea which has a lot of restaurants bars and nightlife and just south is a great Tiki Bar on the beach at a popular hotel. It is also a mile or so from The popular Shooters restaurant in Ft L. The bar downstairs stays open late and plays loud music till midnight - can be fun if you’re a night owl. The room was clean but the bed was oh so lumpy but there was a lot of pillows! Breakfast is basic but decent. Beach towels avail but hard to get. Beach chairs were few and old. The people staying there were the most friendly so that was nice. It’s a very safe area but I did see one homeless person who seemed harmless. The beach was very nice and was just happy to be away from the cold.

Beautifully landscaped patio and pool area with mature plants and foliage and some actual shade. The staff was friendly and accommodating. It's a short walk to Lauderdale-by-the-sea. The rooms were clean and comfortable but some fixtures are showing their age. Good value for the area. I would definitely stay here again.

Homeless person sleeping outside my room. Homeless person sleeping in pool area. Noise from partying guests goes all night. Prostitutes and open air drug use. Black mold in bathroom and around air conditioner. NO NIGHTIME SECURITY OR CAMERAS. Microwave inop. Was approached several times by vagrants looking for handouts. Glad I did not have my family along. Certainly not safe by any standards.

The room smells bad. I asked for housekeeping, and I was told that they already left for the day. Breakfast is a cold bagel with orange juice. The beach public entrance is far away. I was very disappointed.

Hotel was in need of updating. Pool is small and Tiki bar was limited hours. No restaurant service, except for morning breakfast take out. Beautiful uncrowded beach to walk to. Shopping, restaurants nearby, but wear walking shoes. Fun little downtown. Not thrilled with the permanent noisy residents at hotel. Will go elsewhere next time.
