This hotel is in an old building – it’s on the National Register of Historic Places. The building and the grounds (that is, the courtyard behind the hotel) are beautiful – no question. I’ve been to Fernandina many times, so I’m familiar with this place, although I had never stayed there. So I knew going in that it’s old, and...

What a great find of a place to stay in Fernandina Beach. We rented the bridal suite for our anniversary and our was wonderful. From the view from purr balcony to the large courtyard, every part of it was comfort. The owner Karen was especially nice and made sure we were enjoying our stay. Ashley our Mermaid Bar Bartender was...

Visiting during Spring Break. 12 of us came for brunch and sat in the outside patio. They offer unlimited Mimosa's and/or Bloody Mary's and they are excellent. The food was delicious - almost everyone ordered something different, and no one was disappointed. They don't try to rush you at all. The setting is spectacular. I highly recommend this location for...

We arrived early and asked for a place to eat lunch and was sent to a restaurant that was closed for the day. We did not feel welcomed at all. We checked into a room that was shabby at best. Lamp shades were in tatters. The biggest problem was that we had no Wifi in our room at all. We...

It is a quaint hotel in the historic district within walking distance to everything. We did enjoy our stay, but feel the appearance of the inn was a little shabby in some areas. With the cost of the room, we felt they needed to put some money back into it sprucing up the grounds. The breakfast was delicious, the bed...

We visited the Florida House Inn in the early '90's when it was under a different owner and the Inn had a different ambiance. My daughter's birthday was remembered by staff; a big Happy Birthday was written on a board next to the "check-in". We stayed half-dozen times in suite at the top of the stairs; it was fabulous. I...

We arrived during business hours and there was no-one there to greet us. There was an envelope next to the closed office door with a key and some instructions. The lounge was closed and there was no place to get ice. The loud noise from the bar next door was mostly drowned out by the noisy room air conditioner. The...

We recently stayed at the Florida House in the Bridal Suite. Positives: excellent location within walking distance to dinning, shopping and local bars. Breakfast was delicious with homemade raspberry jelly and staff was friendly and ample parking for guests. Cons: Walked in the door to the room and there was a dirty foot print on the area rug beside the...

We were sadly disappointed with our stay from day one. Our room was decreated with wood slats on the walls, several slats were pulling away from the wall. The bathroom was as well a disappointment. We tried using the jacuzzi tub, after several attempts to get the pump to work, it finally came on. Only to have the jets barely...

Charming B&B with lots of room choices, courtyard and inviting front porch. The Florida House and Green Turtle next door appear as if they were plucked out of key West and deposited onto Amelia Island. Walkable to shops and restaurants. Great breakfast included. Friendly staff. Bonus--outdoor ping pong next door.
