We stayed here with family and friends which included 3 kids. The plus point was that it had it's own beach, but it was a very small area . The pool was small too and wasn't kept very clean. The restaurant sand bistro was closed from Mon - wed . The front desk told they always closed it when less occupancy...without any regret.but this was not mentioned anywhere on the website. On Sunday when it was open, the kitchen ran out of food at around 12.30 pm! We could not eat breakfast or lunch or dinner here. The hotel should update the website so customers ( specially with kids) do not depend on getting food within the hotel. The bar too was closed most of the time in the evening ( the tiki bar was closed all Monday) the bar charged gratuity of 18% even if u pick up the drinks from the bar itself. The rooms were clean and the turndown service was good. Overall it is an ok place to stay, but expensive for what it provides
The rooms were very outdated and lots of mold in the bathroom! We stayed for 5 days with a ocean front room. The only thing that was good was the view! The outside bar had good service. The pics that are posted definitely don't look like this hotel! Love music and partying at night. Called down to the front desk and they did nothing about it. Would not stay again! There are lots of better places to stay!
We had one night in Clearwater after our cruise and before or flight back home. So we chose to stay in Clearwater. The Dreamview has its own beach, pool and veranda. It was a pleasant stay. The hotel is older and in need of some repairs but not bad. Compared to other hotels in the area it was a bargain.
For Sands Bistro: The Gulf view is the greatest, boats, umbrellas, birds. Menu was more extensive for dinner when we were here last yr, but the whole place is closing soon, make way for Marriott. :)
We had pancakes w/strawberries & build your own omelette, very laid back atmosphere. The manager, Larry, is a super nice guy, as are the Marriott sales staff located there. I asked to see a couple of rooms & both Gulf & city view are verrry nice. Can hardly believe it'll be torn down, but here comes the high rise. Will be beauuutiful.
Recently booked a trip there this past weekend from 10/19/2018 through 10/21/2018. I contacted the hotel prior to my stay to indicate I was getting engaged over that weekend and did not know if they did anything special. They indicated they would comp me for some drinks at the bar. Upon our check-in on Friday night (10/19/2018), the front desk person checked us in and they proceeded to give me the drink tickets and explain that this is for our engagement with my girlfriend standing right next to me who had no clue that was going to happen that weekend, so the surprise was totally ruined. The next morning my girlfriend talked to the manager on duty and explained what happened and indicated we are not trying to get anyone in trouble just for future use, and he proceeded to yell at her and tell her how are they supposed to know it was a surprise and all we wanted was stuff for free (which I would have gladly done without the $15.00 drink tickets to have it be a surprise), then as she was about 2- feet away yelled to her “Happy engagement”, which again, did not occur that this point in time.
As we stayed there this weekend, we realized that the place will be torn down for a new project, so we are assuming that is why the manager did not care.
It was very unfortunate with the attitude she received, however, we were extremely pleased with the location of this hotel and have zero complaints about the hotel itself, and the new building go up there will have a perfect and beautiful location.
