I stayed in a king room by myself and it was large with recently renovated bathroom. Breakfast is free and delicious. The staff is really nice and not hovering. This place is old but charming, so I wouldn't exchange for a newer hotel. Great location within walking distance from banks, shopping, and restaurants.

Stayed in the Island hotel in Cedar Key in July as part of our road trip around Florida because i had read a review of the place earlier in the year. I would certainly not recommend this place to anyone, it might be quaint but that's about it. Extremely poor hospitality, particularly the surly bar lady who found it a...

My wife and I just wanted to get away for a few days since she had just finished up with many weeks of radiation and chemo and was looking forward to a break. We had been to the hotel about 20 years before and really enjoyed it then so we were excited to return. Everything was perfect with one minor...

Stayed 2 nights in room 29. Beautiful place, very peaceful, and helpful staff. Will be returning. Free breakfast was great and Neptune bar is not to be missed if your passing through. Large porch upstairs for all guests is very relaxing with plenty of seats.

Just got back from spending the night at Island Hotel in Cedar Keys. It is very old and full of charm and character. If you are used to the chain motels and hotels be warned there are no TV or phones in the rooms but have free WIfi for guests even though it is a bit slow. Our room 30...

The hotel is a remarkable throwback to days of yore. My wife and I did not stay at the hotel. We did eat in the bar and found it to be a delight! The decor is remarkable, the prices are fair and the atmosphere is GREAT! The artwork behind the bar is very cool. You have to experience this place....

We made reservations but came early because we wanted to have a drink in the Neptune Bar before dinner. The Island Hotel is an interesting historic building and the bar is small but has a lot of character and a cozy atmosphere. There was a man dressed in a captain's uniform behind the bar (we assume the bartender) who was...

My husband and I have stayed here several times -- alone and also with friends. The inn is enchanting and comfortable. The owners and workers are very hospitable and friendly -- as well as the resident ghosts. I highly recommend a stay here to recharge your batteries. The lounge has several high-end beers on tap and the food in the...

We always had visited the bar in this hotel with its colorful locals and guest but had never stayed in bed and breakfast type hotel before. I can not express how much we loved the hotel and Cedar Key in general!!!! The inn was built originally in 1859 or so as a general store and has had many changes through...
