Hyatt Vacation Club at Coconut Cove receives a mix of feedback. Guests commend the hotel for its cleanliness, especially in the pools and communal areas, while suggesting the buildings could benefit from refurbishment. The service garners mixed reviews, with some guests citing the staff's helpfulness and others pointing out delays and unprofessionalism.
While the hotel's location is favored for tranquility and remote work, the lack of kid-friendly activities and amenities comparable to other Hyatt properties is noted. Room conditions have disappointed several guests, and there are concerns about value for money due to unexpected costs.

Detailed Reviews
The resort is a beautifully-maintained collection of pools and gardens - an oasis from the multitude of stores, restaurants, etc just a mile away on busy Tamiami Trail., The proximity of services makes this location especially wonderful for families. The boat trip to the private beach (included with the room) was memorable - many dolphins played in our wake.

We came here looking for a change of scenery after being cooped up due to the ongoing pandemic. We picked up groceries or ordered takeout for dinner. Our days were spent at the pool or the beach, away from other individuals. To get to the beach, you have to make a reservation in advance and then get yourself to the ferry launch. In the past, they had a trolley shuttle that would take you to the launch but due to Covid that isn’t happening at this time. Once at the beach, it’s definitely relaxing!
Back at the resort, the pool was nice. While there are many chairs, the social distancing there was “interesting”. Some random chairs were blocked off, but I was surprised at how minimal this was. 1 out of the 5 days we were there we saw someone walking around the pool cleaning. The rest of the days we didn’t see any cleaning up around the pool going on which was rather interesting seeing as how we had gone to the Hyatt Residence Club in Sedona and they had a very thorough disinfecting process after guests left the pool chairs and tables.
The rooms themselves are showing wear, however we do plan to return in the future due to the amenities, location and attentiveness we get while being there. Anything we needed during our stay, the front desk was on it. All in all, we look forward to returning in the future.

We own at Key West Beach Club. But Bonita Springs is so much closer and our grandsons love the lazy river so we book there about once a year. This is the first time back since the pandemic began. We had booked two, TWO BEDROOM units. We have never had a problem booking these in the past. We got two lock off’s. Meaning a one bedroom unit and outside the door was another lockable unit Basically two separate hotel units with a little common entryway. We have young grandsons but apparently there were no other rooms available to switch. We used the door stops to keep the inner doors open so we could hear the kids if needed. Several times during our stay housekeeping would just walk in through the outer door. Yes we complained, but basically got “Sorry , we’ll talk to housekeeping”, only to have it happen again the next night. The most disturbing time it happened was at 10:30 PM. The children were asleep in bed., my daughter and son in law about to go to bed, and this man just walks in! No knocks, no nothing, just walked in!! He quickly turned around said he was from housekeeping and left. We think he was just looking for a place to sleep. When a family requests a two bedroom unit, they need a two bedroom unit! A lock off is not a two bedroom unit and does not provide adequate security, especially when there are young children. Will we be back, of course, but we will be purchasing and using a travel door look so if we get a lock off again, this won’t happen. The first photo that I posted is of the outer door there is no lock at all on it so if you’re inside the room you cannot secure it and housekeeping can just walk in

Thank you for your feedback, I am sorry that your experience was not positive with the two bedroom lock-off. In the future, please feel free to contact me directly at the resort after booking, so that we can see if a Two bedroom Villa units is available ahead of your arrival. In addition, the outer lock-off door can have a deadbolt function added to it. I am sorry of this service was not offered, and I will definitely work with our Housekeeping team to make sure we are knocking when delivering items to the rooms. I do sincerely hope you will return to Coconut Plantation.

Pools aren’t really that “heated”. There’s supposed to be daily housekeeping (picture attached) but because we “booked a studio”, we only had trash picked up and new towels provided (when the pamphlet in the room said all housekeeping services are provided daily), and they showed up at almost 5pm to do this (the place wasn’t full at all). They charge $400-$600 a night on average I might add, what a joke.
Save your money and stay at a Hyatt Place (or Motel 6), especially when the front desk says you get better value from those (they said the pamphlet was also wrong, that’s not my problem). This will be our one and only time staying at a Hyatt Residence Club. I still can’t believe they charge so much for so little, it’s insulting.

We have spent two weeks here and the service has been wonderful. The 2 bedroom condo has everything you could need & they come with towels & trash every day with a mid week cleaning. Games & movies can be borrowed from the front desk. The pools are heated (one is not) along with the lazy river which is fun. The Veranda at the pool is great for lunch and cocktails. Make sure to take advantage of the private beach at Big Hickory & also use of some facilities at the Hyatt Regency! The Hyatt does it right!!!

On the plus side, having washer & dryer was great, and we saved a lot each day by having a full kitchen (and grills outside). They provided all the pans, plates and such, very nice. We enjoyed simple breakfasts and several evening meals at home. They also have a very nice and current DVD collection at the front desk.
Units face golf course, which is fine if that's what you want, but there is no water or nearby beach. Taking a tram to a boat to get to a beach without amenities isn't our idea of fun.
We were put off because the pool temp wasn't what we were told it would be, even on hottest January day in history. Good news, they have a drink of the day, 1/2 of the normal $15 per drink. Bad news, you can't bring your own juice boxes, snacks or other into pool area. It's not a safety thing, you can have those things but you have to buy theirs.

Thank you for your feedback, we appreciate it. While many or our guests enjoy visiting Estero Bay and our Island beach amenities, I can understand if you prefer a property with the beach on site. We do heat 4 of our 5 pools and river to between 82 and 85 degrees, I do apologize if you felt they were not warm enough during your stay. We do hope you will return to Coconut Plantation in the future.

The facility is outstanding and the January weather was wonderful. We particularly enjoyed the spacious units, lazy river and warm pools, the pleasant boat ride to the private beach, found reasonable golf near by with some effort, pickleball, and pickup tennis game nearby. The staff was very friendly. Timeshares are affordable through resales.

Resort was short staffed. Restaurant opened and closed at strange times so be sure to bring your own groceries. The mgmt here needs to revisit the "rules" in place that made no sense whatsoever and created a poor customer experience. If you have a sign in the fitness room that reads "8 people max" yet you're only letting in 1 person at a time which you have to reserve in advance?? awful. DO research on the safe ways to have a fitness room open. This location has a self service "holiday-inn express" feel. My 1 bdrm suite had outdated decor and was wedged in between other rooms on an angle so people could look into my balcony/room. Couldn't even open the door to patio due to noise. Wont be returning. Will not be using points here again, other properties are much nicer and have much better amenities.

The resort is very nice and they've done a good job cleaning up after Hurricane Ian. Several things remain closed: the resort beach, Big Hickory Island, Camp Manatee kids club, and Coconut’s Bar. Unfortunately, we weren't notified of these closures until the week before our trip but we enjoyed the pool and lazy river.
We stayed 4 nights and had two units, a 2 bedroom and a 1 bedroom. The rooms are spacious, the beds are comfortable, the patio is large with ceiling fans and screens, and the kitchens had everything we needed to make meals.
A few issues...
1. The coffee pot wouldn't turn on; we had to make several calls and ended up taking it to the front desk to talk to someone in person before we got a replacement.
2. The microwave stopped working but maintenance showed up within 30 minutes to fix the tripped breaker which is located behind a framed piece of art near the front door.
3. One of the bathroom sinks was so clogged that it wouldn't drain at all. I removed the drain plug and it was full of black gunk and hair. We called maintenance again and they arrived within 30 minutes to clean it.
4. Another bathroom had a similar issue but we just let it go since it wasn't as bad. I did notify the front desk when I checked out and recommended that they talk to housekeeping about communicating with maintenance when they notice an issue so the guests aren't left with the responsibility. She just looked at me...no apology.
Overall, the front desk staff isn't friendly at all. They don't seem to like their jobs or people. Housekeeping does a good job cleaning but several times I walked by her and said "hello" or "good morning" and she didn't even smile back. The concierge was nice and one other young guy smiled a lot and showed enthusiasm being around guests. We encountered him a few times at the pool.
My recommendation to management is to train your staff in customer service, teach them how to carry on a basic conversation with guests, and tell them to smile often (or at all). We've never experienced such poor service at a Hyatt Residence Club/Hyatt Vacation Club and we've been owners for over 17 years. We checked into a Hyatt Place in Tampa the day we checked out and we were treated far better there than at Hyatt Vacation Club Coconut Cove.

We spent a week at Coconut Plantation with my family. The service is amazing and the outdoor space is beautiful. It is a perfect place for a family to spend time together as there is a beautiful kiddie pool, a fabulous river pool and a well designed main pool with lovely waterfalls. My only negative is that is was pricey as a one bedroom apartment was $750 a night and the room was very average.

Yes, there is a Publix Grocery Store 5 to 10 minutes from the Hyatt Residence Club and there is also an outdoor mall called Coconut Point that has shops and restaurants available.
Hello, the Hyatt Regency is exactly a mile from the Hyatt Residence Club. There is no transportation available to and from.
Currently the Beach, Restaurant and Spa outlets are available for guest use across the properties year round. Our guests have limited access via a wristband system during some parts of the year, and some blackout dates apply. Please feel free to call the Resort for more information.
Hi!
There is no parking fee at the Residence Club.
The water slides are not at the Residence Club, they are at the hotel next door. Last time we went to the hotel while staying @ Residence Club there were no fees. I know that as of last October, they were allowing a smaller amount of guests to go over on guest passes. Also, it depends on when you’re going because sometimes they don’t allow guests passes at all (holidays, especially) so I would confirm availability with the concierge @ Residence Club before your stay.
No, parking is free to guests.
