Food was great, had black beans and rice with mahi. Server Marci was terrific. We enjoyed our walk after on the nature trail. It is a beautiful setting for a restaurant. Others had shrimp and seafood salad and everyone enjoyed their food.

Marci was so pleased that you enjoyed your visit with us! Our nature trail can be a hot spot for local wildlife, if mother nature cooperates, that is. The kitchen staff were very glad to hear their food was enjoyed. We hope to see you again soon!

This place is amazing! The cottages are peaceful and quiet and completely cozy. Perfect for a romantic getaway or even great for a family vacation. It is where you can unplug and just be in the moment. The staff was unbelievable. So gracious and fun and very accommodating. Chef Steve and Chef Chris, Marlene, Michelle and Debi were simply the...

We had the pleasure of stopping there for lunch during a fishing trip. What a way to end a beautiful scenic trip. The waitress Marcie was fast, friendly and efficient. I had the blackened "Mahi Mahi" with black beans and rice it was very fresh and delicious. Well worth the trip.

Our boating group stopped here for lunch and it was great. Free dockage, beautiful surroundings, excellent food and service. Highly-recommended and we will likely return to stay in a cottage. Everything we had heard it to be. Marcie took great care of us as our server.

In May 2015, I spent two short days on Cayo Costa and decided to paddle over to see the source of inspiration for the great Jimmy Buffet's Cheeseburger in Paradise song ... and return to Cayo, victoriously, with a cheeseburger and fries for my sister (who stayed in the cabin to read). As a newcomer to these waters, I don't...

My new wife and I took our honeymoon to Cabbage Key for 7 days. We stayed at the Osprey Cottage. The Osprey cottage was exactly what we were looking for. 1. Rooms. Our 2-bedroom cottage was perfect. Simple but great A/C (!) and fully furnished with all necessary - including the kitchen. And our own dock for sunset margaritas & porpoise-watching. And surprisingly great value - less than the price of two motel rooms on the mainland! And free waterfront and island trails to walk and wander. 2. Restaurant. Food...

Taking nothing away from it's natural beauty, which is free, if I could sit down with the Wells family, owners of this island, I would tell them they have a very beautiful home. . .but, then I would ask, do you have a coffee maker that takes less than 40 minutes to brew a pot, do your drains in the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Cabbage Key is a 100 acre island located five miles off of Pine Island, FL in the Pine Island Sound. The Inn, built in the 1940's by the family of Mary Roberts Rinehart, now houses our famous Restaurant & Dollar Bill Bar and six guest rooms. The rooms in the Inn are all different with old Florida charm - they do not have TVs, phones, or refrigerators. We have seven cottages on the island, ranging from a 1 bedroom/1 bath cottage to 3 bedroom/3 bath waterfront units. All cottages have refrigerators, televisions (no cable) and coffee makers, some units have full kitchens. Our restaurant is open seven days a week and serves breakfast, lunch & dinner. If you want to relax on a beach...we do not have one here. But, Cayo Costa is a close kayak or boat ride away. This is a great retreat to discover "Old Florida", relax with a book, fish from our docks & watch the boats go by. ... more   less
