Hotel worthy of 5 star ++ service!!! We travel a lot but this is the first time that we have been so surprised by the attention, kindness, services and cleanliness of the place! You won't find this service anywhere else! The hotel staff members are all adorable and always concerned about your comfort. They are there to respond to your requests and do their best to satisfy you. The hotel has an incredible view, for us it was the most beautiful view in Bali and our best experience. Their kindness and permanent smile touched us a lot. The hotel offers free activities such as a visit to their coffee plantation as well as their plastic recycling, also candle making, an introduction to Balinese dance or its instruments, the making of artisanal bracelets, etc.

We stayed there for our honeymoon and the attentions were multiplied every day: petal in the bath, shape on the bed with towels, little note on the bed with sweet tasting while we were in the restaurant. …

Breakfast and 4 p.m. tea are included in the reservation, and the breakfast was by far the best we could eat! Always with this magnificent view of the volcanoes and the sea in the distance.

A little thought for Nopa who showed us the coffee plantation and took care to explain the different processes to us.

And thanks again to Giri for the different activities and his kindness with his touch of madness that we loved! Heart stroke !

We will come back, I promise.

An incredibly beautiful, less travelled, part of Bali run and staffed by some of Bali's warmest, friendliest, most welcoming people. We just loved the physical beauty of the place but were blown away by the people who work here. Top professionals who clearly love their jobs and love their guests! We were treated like well loved visiting family by everyone we came across - from the drivers, the gardeners, the Chef and kitchen staff, the butlers, restaurant and bar staff, staff at the spa and the trekking guide.
There are 2 stunning edgeless pools here but we stayed in one of the private pool villas - Jungle Villa. With its own edgeless pool and jacuzzi looking out at the jungle and mountains in the distance. Not even the coolish weather and rain could keep us away!
Wonderful food (thanks Chef!) with an emphasis on the lesser known dishes of northern Bali and the different sambals to accompany every meal. We had some of the best meals we have had in Bali at Warung Bongkot including the Chef's tasting dinner. Breakfast, lunch and dinner at Mimpi allowed you to range wider in Bali and Indonesia and international hotel fare - also delicious.
So many activities (many free) are scheduled that you could spend your time just doing those. Yoga twice a week by an outside teacher who was very good and experienced. And lots to explore in the area from trekking to canoeing to waterfall swimming. We stayed for 5 nights and still did not manage to fit everything in as we allowed for down time to enjoy our pool and villa!
This place provides incredible service and experience not in a 5 star impersonal international hotel way but with a very genuine, warm, kind and gentle approach. We would return in a heartbeat!
We loved all the staff but also want to give a shoutout to the following we were particularly touched and impressed by:
- our butlers Leo, Purna and Bendy for whom nothing was ever too much trouble
- Tuta our waitress at Warong Bungkot who made sure we ate well with charm, humour and loving attention. We expect her to be running the place in a few years!
- Risna the best margarita bar person, always with a smile, always looking out for our comfort especially on the cold, foggy, damp evenings!
- Sumadi, Dipa and Murda at Mimpi restaurant who kept us fed and watered with loving attention breakfast, lunch and dinner
- Chef and his team in the kitchen for turning out exceptional delicious dishes at every meal and sending out kind additions like freshly baked snake fruit muffins once they heard we like snake fruit! We loved Chef's relaxed but detailed attention to the food and felt like he was cooking and we were eating as a family.
- Our guide for our Lake Tamblingan walk, Apri, for his generosity in sharing his local knowledge and keeping leaches and me apart!
- Wira, the amazing, kind and welcoming guest relations manager. We enjoyed our chats and his help with whittling down our schedule (to allow time in the villa!)
- Our drivers Sugi and Gede for their good natured, expert and patient driving.
Really everyone we came across even in fleeting encounters were just delightful and we can't say thank you enough!

Our family of 4 with 2 adult sons had a wonderful four day stay over Christmas 2022. We had been to Bali several times before but never to this part of the island. The location is stunning and the accommodation excellent in line with 5 star villas elsewhere. We stayed in the Valley 2 bedroom villa and had the privilege of a private butler, Leo, who could not have been more professional or attentive.

The weather during our stay was typical for the season meaning it rained most of the time. The average temperature was around 19 degrees Celsius.

We used the spa twice and the massages were top quality and good value. We also participated in some of the free activities including the coffee tour and the sustainability tour. We also took the free excursion to Lovina beach which was a beautiful drive down the mountain with some amazing views.

We enjoyed the food which we thought was well prepared and tasty and reasonable value for a luxury resort.

All the staff are from the local area and their commitment to making the place special comes through strongly. If you are looking for a boutique resort away from the hustle and bustle this is a great choice.

Best of the lodging I've ever visited.

The location is a bit remote and there are not a lot of tourists going to the area, but it was very popular.

Personally, if someone around me is on a honeymoon trip to Bali, I would recommend it here.

I've also been to Kaohsiung Glory Court, but it was much better than Kaohsiung.

Other resorts are called private swimming pools, and if you go to the bottom, it's often a small pool with a pond.

The main pool view is really good and the private pool view is also good Breakfast was also good to eat as a floating breakfast at the hostel

There are various programs you can participate in by day, by hour.

Although there is a small price range in restaurants, but usually these outdoors have poor food quality and prices are very expensive.

The only disadvantage seems to be the location of the hostel, where other advantages are overwhelmed enough and are left to rotate completely.

2 nights and too little remains

Personal housekeeping system was good.
Arick was kind and humoruos butler

Visited Munduk with my friend and it was heavenly! Two bedroom villa with pool gave us all the peace and quiet we craved for on a trip without children and husbands, breakfast served by our pool oveelooking the valley was a daily highlight.

Apart from a half-day car tour to see rice terraces and temples in the are we didn’t leave the resort for five days and felt no need or desire to do so. We spent our days doing yoga, taking cooking classes, horse-riding and simply chilling by one of the fabulous pools. Would definitely recommend Munduk as a place to avoid crowds, pollution and rubbish. Aparently there are also fewer venemous snakes at this altitude, which made me a little calmer.

The food was great with two restaurants to choose from. Sundowners by the pool was another highlight. From beginning to end the staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

Hidden amongst the lush greenery of Munduk, Munduk Moding Plantation is a paradise for nature lovers and relaxation seekers alike. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with breathtaking views, impeccable service, and a feeling of complete tranquility.

Our stay was made even more special by our amazing butlers, Gargita and Putra. Their warmth and attentiveness were truly outstanding. They anticipated our every need and ensured our comfort throughout our stay. Whether it was arranging activities, recommending delicious local dishes, or simply keeping our room sparkling clean, Gargita and Putra went above and beyond.

Pros: Impeccable service, gorgeous views, relaxing spa. I love the remote and quiet location, waking up to chirping birds, and the total peace. I stayed in Frangipani Villa and it was nice to have the private infinity pool and hot jacuzzi with views for days. Butlers and spa and restaurant staff were all wonderful. Arik and Leo and Wira and Dipa and Augustina and the list goes on- such great staff! Sorry to anyone I forgot! The staff made it feel like home. Such a treat to be pampered! Could be *extremely* romantic with a partner! Fun girls getaway for friends or family. But even solo, for me it was absolute perfection.

Cons: For me, the only problem (and maybe it’s my American customs) was the lack of AC. It is true that there were cool evenings and mornings, but there were also some really humid and hot moments. At least some ceiling fans to move the air around! Or screen doors so I could open the doors at night to let air in without being attacked by insects. For me, we really need to take the humidity out of the air, though, especially after hiking to waterfalls or other strenuous local activities. Luckily for me, they were able to bring me a portable AC, but the property owner should really just put some small mini splits in each room. The bathrooms and finishing touches can be somewhat updated and refined. But rustic for 5 stars. But the service is what makes this place!

Also, I came in the rainy season and it was rainy and cloudy sometimes. But for me that was more of a pro than a con; I like the changing weather! But if you’re looking for clear views and sunshine, you might want to come in the summer. Lastly, we had one big rainstorm one afternoon and I had zero cell or internet service for a few hours. Such is the nature of life in the jungles and mountains! For me, again, not a problem, but just FYI. Not really a place to work remotely. Really is a place to relax and unwind and connect with nature and yourself.

Overall, I would say this place is certainly more of the typical Balinese perfection! I would love to come back!

Dear Megan Lorena, Greetings from MMP - North Bali. Thank you very much for staying at our resort. We are glad to know that you loved the view and appreciate the friendliness of our staff as well as the services they carried out. On the other hand, we are deeply sorry that you were not fully impressed during your stay due to some issues your encountered during your stay. Firstly, on your comments about the AC, it is true that we do provide portable AC which is available on request. In regard to the decoration, most of our rooms/villas were actually newly renovated in 2022 to make sure that they are in good shape. In addition, most of the decoration is an original concept designed to give our guests a sense of typical Balinese atmosphere. Unfortunately, we did not realize that it was not up to your preference. We will surely take this really seriously to improve our rooms and other facilities. We highly appreciate your feedback on this. We do hope that we would be able to welcome you back to our resort in the future. Best regards, General Manager & MMP Team

Just checked out of this hotel yesterday and I must say we were extremely impressed about everything this resort has to offer. We stayed at over 10 different high end resorts all around Bali and our conclusion is that this resort offers the best bang for your buck if you are looking for a luxury pool villa with a great view.
All other high end resorts offering similar pool villas cost at least $1000 in Ubud and the view isn't even comparable to this one. Don't get me wrong this villa is not cheap but you definitely get what you pay for. One key feature in this resort is that the pool villas included private Butlers (both day and night shift). Putra and Aleks took such great care of us we don't know what to say - now we know why this resort has such excellent reviews. They really went above and beyond in ensuring all guests are treated like royalty. You really need to experience their service to understand it. Floating breakfast was included in the room rate which is u usual compared to other hotels. The hotel rate also included a number of complimentary activities such as coffee tours and Balinese offering classes which were all enjoyable. Food was generally good especially the Balinese restaurant - you can always order room service to your room if you want more time to enjoy your private villa. We want o thank everyone in the resort for giving us such a good time - especially Putra and Aleks! This resort is so worth the trip from central Bali!

A very quiet & secluded retreat away from the hustle & bustle of coastal Bali.
The entire staff is attentive, helpful and eager to please. They are simply delightful.
The setting is beautiful, located as it is on the steep side of a hill within the plantation, with small roads criss-crossing giving access to villas. Electric buggies are available for some of the distant villas or for a look around the plantation. The whole is eco-friendly; great emphasis is placed on harmony with nature. Guests are encouraged to plant a small tree in the far-reaching grounds.
Two infinity pools with terrific views are located centrally near the restaurant and main building. (picturesque sunsets from them are almost a given!) Dining tables can be set alongside which is a pleasant outdoor location for meals. Breakfast is taken via waiting staff which makes a nice change from buffet-style breakfasts. Food in general is of a very high standard.
The guided trek to the nearby waterfalls through the woods is very worthwhile doing. Plus, there are various activities within the hotel grounds.
We did feel that maybe our villa was starting to look a bit tired, as though a refresh was coming due. However, it was extremely well maintained. The patio doors could do with a fly screen permanently across them as there is no air conditioning so the doors are the only source of fresh air. When a couple of mozzies did get in housekeeping quickly appeared with a spray.
I would strongly recommend booking a stay at Munduk, a lovely environment for a relaxing stay.

Based on our experience the hotel is very accommodating. I suspect if your unit is available they would allow ir. Failing that they would likely store your belongings and allow you to enjoy the facilities.
