After a punishing day on the Northern Fells,a pint was the order of the day.The Mill provided a warm and friendly environment with charismatic low ceilings, traditional furnishings and a roaring fire, ideal on a freezing day.The premises host accommodation which is ideal for walkers, with the fells being immediately behind the pub

We stayed in the Mill Mungrisdale for almost a week and really enjoyed it. We were put in room 6 which is quite compact for the first night and found it a bit small with our 2 suitcases. I politely asked if there was a slightly bigger room available and the staff could not have been more helpful the rest...

Called at the Mill Inn this lunchtime, unfortunately they hadn't had deliveries and could only do sandwiches. We plumped for the Cumberland sausage sub with red onion marmalade. Looked tasty when it arrived but the sausage was not warm and some was not cooked at all. We were the only people in at the time so they really should have...

An amazing trip away with my wife and my dog. A perfect place for tackling Blencathra as a starting to end point. We went and tackled the Ullswater way from here (a thirty minutes drive) a lovely family run business. Great room. Great food. Great beer. Nice to enjoy the fire... When this place says dog friendly they mean it...

Just returned from a lovely relaxing stay at the Mill Inn. Beautiful location, huge portions of lovely fresh food, great selection of beers and the most comfortable bed. Probably the best, grease free cooked breakfast! Lovely to see such happy and friendly staff, obviously enjoying what they do. Excellent place to explore the northern fells. Will definitely return.

Excellent stay . Staff very welcoming and very happy. Evening food menu very good and delicious. The bedroom was very cosy and the bed so so comfortable. The cooked breakfast must be the best we have every had - made with good quality produce. Hope to return.

This is a great pub, we were made to feel very welcome and enjoyed a chat with the owners. Had a really lovely dinner, and the rest of the menu looked very good. The dog was made to feel welcome too - Thanks

We had booked in as a convenient place to break a journey from Lochaber to Hampshire - struck pay dirt as we found a dog friendly pub with accommodation which not only does great food, has a nice spread of real ales and very friendly, helpful staff - one of those places you book into as a customer and feel...

Really torn between letting people know that this was a brilliant stop after a walk on the fells versus keeping it quiet so as not to encourage more people and spoil the tranquility of this delightful inn. Good food coupled with a nice refreshing drink served by really friendly staff. Simply an enjoyable end to a day on the hills.
