The Mayflower Inn is in a wonderful location. Close to Boston and New York, it is situated in a scenic hilly setting with good dining and shopping in nearby Litchfield. The inn itself is very attractive and the staff is very friendly. There are fireplaces and intimate seating arrangements throughout the first floor. The rooms are spacious in the main... More

We went to the Mayflower about two weeks ago and boy were we surprised. The wonderful decor was gone and replaced by the tackiest furniture I have ever seen. What were they thinking? The food was still expensive and still not very good. I read all the complaints about the Mayflower with the response from the General Manager. Its the... More

We went here to celebrate our first anniversary. Stayed in one of the smaller buildings not the main hotel. Service was perfect. Drinks on the back deck overlooking the well manicured lawn. The food was delicious and set the tone for a wonderful romantic weekend. Had so massages. Both designed for "couples" with the aromatic soak before hand. So calming... More

Having stayed at the Mayflower a few years ago when under different management I was concerned that possibly, standards may have changed. Fortunately, this visit proved that service is still a priority. This beautifully situated inn is surrounded by well tended grounds that lend a calming sense of well being. If you want to escape from the frenetic pace of... More

Let me say I don't mind the fact that this is one of the most expensive (if not most expensive) places at which my wife and I have every stayed. It really is that this was not the nicest place at which we have ever stayed. In general, rather than exuding an atmosphere of warmth, I felt it was really... More

The Mayflower Grace is a gem of a hotel perfect for a romantic getaway. Rooms are gorgeous - ask for room 35 with views of the garden and a large four poster bed. Bathrooms are a little old, but the overall charm of the inn more than makes up for that. Service was great, spa idyllic and tranquil - just... More

We visited the hotel for brunch today expecting great things... The location is lovely and so are the gardens. The entrance is charming with lovely open fires... However, the brunch food was really substandard. I had a lobster frittata and this was soggy and flavourless. Our first two choices, the salmon and the crab eggs benedict had run out. My... More

We took a Sunday ride to see the fall colors and have brunch at The Mayflower. The colors were spectacular....The brunch, not at all. I had the Crab Eggs Benedict. It was completely devoid of flavor. Truly disappointing. Furthermore, the service was horrendous. At a restaurant with a reputation such as this one you would a much higher level of... More

We had dinner at the Mayflower Grace in September. The food was ok and beautifully presented. The wait staff was attentive but not overly so. The decor in the dining room is GHASTLY. It is cold looking (all white and pale grey) , doesn't fit a charming country inn and the ceiling is dreadful! It has no relationship to the... More

The Mayflower Grace was exactly what we expected, which is a good thing. Beautiful property, spacious and luxurious room, very nice dinner and breakfast, and the service was uniformly warm and efficient. I just wish we had had more time to enjoy the surrounding area.
