The positive reviews tell the real story. I've stayed at the inn several times and have never encountered the issues mentioned by a couple of "naysayers". Dennis and Rosemary are professional, hospitable and very much down to earth. They've always gotten back to me re: reservations promptly and were well prepared for my arrival/departure. The rooms are great - perfect...

Had Reservations for June 3, 2016 to stay in one of the suites. Arrived before 3pm and the place looked runned down and deserted unlike in the pictures. I understand its old and "historic" but there was no question this was runned down and not historic. I can't speak to how the inside was because when we got there the...

Gwyn Careg is reminiscent of a country estate in the UK. Dennis and Rosemary and their son, Andrew are truly the "hosts with the most". The "Suite William" was ideal for us. ~ Two comfortably furnished bedrooms separated by a private bath. ... Rosemary prepared breakfast...which was delicious. ... The inn is furnished beautifully and the Bove's warm and welcoming...

My nieces wedding was held at this inn. Beautiful property, great friendly attentive staff, excellent food. I sampled prime rib, chicken, and swordfish, all prepared beautifully. We did not stay at the inn, but I imagine from the space I saw the rooms are beautiful.

We stayed at the Gwyn Careg for a wedding in the area. The staff and breakfast was great. The grounds were neat and we enjoyed walking the property. However... being an old home with a lot of character, it is a bit run-down and needs some cosmetic touches (e.g., our room's bathroom needed a lot of work). I hope you...

We tried making reservations here for a wedding. Called the inn, the owners cell and emailed. Nothing! At the wedding since guest who was able to reserve showed us his room. Glad we weren't successful. Rooms are tired and worn. The wedding was nice but the service disappointing.

We just celebrated out daughter's wedding at the GCI this past weekend. Where do we begin to share all the wonderful and magical things that happened at the Inn? The gardens are absolutely perfect for a romantic wedding ceremony. The Bose family ensured that the grounds of the Inn were groomed to perfection and there was an abundance of color...

In September of 2012, I had the pleasure of attending my Niece's wedding at the Gwyn Careg Inn. The Inn is situated in a beautiful and secluded part of Connecticut. The first impressions of the exterior are still etched in my mind. The wedding took place in the private walled garden during sunset. The emaculatly groomed gardens and grounds were...

My wife and I recently spent our annual fall foliage weekend at the Gwyn Careg Inn. We stayed in the Marquis suite and it was a large beautiful room with an old world charm. The grounds are beautiful and the hosts (Dennis & Rose) were easy to talk with and helped us find local attractions and restaurants. We would highly...

My family and I recently stayed at the Gwyn Careg. I had my wedding at a restaurant nearby and wanted to stay somewhere comfortable and magical for the occasion. Our experience was absolutely fantastic. Our rooms were enormous and really comfortable. The Bridal Suite is lovely and has a great view of the grounds and the pond. The house and...
