This hotel has a busy restaurant and when we arrived the staff were really too busy to welcome us correctly. Although it was only September and the hotel was nowhere near full, we were put in small rooms on the first floor with dirty windows, dirty, old fashioned radiators and poky bathrooms. The rooms were absolutely freezing and when we...

I went to see Rod Washburn at the Listening Room in the Bee and Thistle and it was wonderful! The Bee and Thistle is just beautiful with the perfect lighting, lovely decor, yummy food and the most fabulous cocktails :) Rod's voice and guitar sounded wonderful and along with the candlelight created a magical retreat. It was my first time...

We attended the New Year's Eve Dinner and Dance with friends. We had a nice time. The food was good and the wine was great at a good price! We went last year to Old Saybrook Point Inn for New Year's Eve and it was a very different experience. At the Bee and Thistle, the customers were very polite and...

We booked a room here as a birthday night away, and it was everything we hoped it would be and more. The first thing we saw walking up to the Inn's door was groups of friends and families relaxing in front of the fireplaces. Walking in, we were instantly greeted with a smile and friendly welcoming. While she took our...

Its been years since we were there, when a friend suggested it I thought "wonderful idea". We were seated at a good table right away. Then the waiting started... 45 min later salads had not arrived. We asked for more bread, That took awhile. We were told there were 2 large parties (10 and 12 guests) ahead of us. Our...

Evening meal excellent plus good and pleasant service. paricularly since the table d'hote was brought to our attention.Room was adequate but not properly cleaned; hairgrips on floor and windows really quite dirty. The bathroom was really small and very difficult for a six foot man to shower. It was more like a cupboard. We came down for breakfast at about 9...

My daughter’s wedding at the Inn was a splendid occasion. The wedding site, down a lawn to a scenic waterway, is a peaceful place for a ceremony. With flowers and guest seating, it was lovely. We then had a champagne toast, specialty cocktails, and passed appetizers under a magnificent old tree. The dinner was outstanding. It was a gourmet three...

Nice place with different rooms to dine in. ( outside seating too). Small bar with a great bartender, very original drinks. The food was amazing! Very nice portions and cooked as ordered (steak and lamb). Our server Kris was wonderful. We walked after dinner down by the lake at the back of the property. Very pretty setting. Great place for...

My girlfriend took me here for a birthday present. Very nice place; very relaxing. Love sitting in the lounge chairs out by the river. Very peaceful. In-house restaurant is very good. Only drawback was breakfast, which wasn't up to par. Good location. Just minutes off I-95. Lots of local art shops in the area.

First time back in a while, we were impressed with the quality of the food. Definitely upped their game in the kitchen. The menu was limited but the four of us were very pleased with each of our respective dishes. Cocktails were unique and expertly prepared. There was live music in the bar which was a bit too loud in...
