Decided to go to the jazz show at The Side Door about 2h before the show. Outstanding hospitality--a quick check into the room and then indoor walk to the show. Great venue for a show--intimate with great acoustics. Then another short indoor walk to a great night sleep in a spacious room with a fireplace. Delicious brunch the next day....

We stayed for a weekend and had a very charming room. The room was large and the and very nicely furnished. Continental breakfast was very excellent and a very nice sitting room. Would definitely stay at this inn again.

Our daughter was married at the Old Lyme in recently. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this inn and their owners and staff. The event coordinator there, Julie, made our daughter and son-in-laws dreams for a small and intimate wedding a reality. She attended to every detail and went above and beyond to make the day a most special...

We were here for a wedding for a Friday and sat night stay. Our shower was completely broken, would only give out scalding hot water or ice cold and the tub wouldn't drain. No toiletries in the room. No tv or clock in the room. The Wi-Fi is shotty. No hangers in the closet and The robes physically look disgusting....

Dear Natasha, In response to your review I feel compelled to offer our side. When you reported your shower not functioning correctly we notified our maintenance person who acquired the correct part and had it repaired in under an hour maybe even closer to 1/2 an hour. I'd say that is not bad given it was a Saturday morning. Any...

Stayed here for one night with my mum on our New England trip. Room very clean, spacious and really comfy bed and lovely bathroom. However, what was somewhat lacking was the hospitality normally offered at other inns we have stayed at. It was unfortunate that they are having some kitchen staff issues and therefore the restaurant was closed. However, although...

Thank you, Shell for your honest review. We are very sorry that you experienced the Old Lyme Inn during what has been a very challenging time. We are trying to honor our room reservations as well as our booked events but it is difficult to completely staff given the lack of a restaurant. We do not want to settle and...

Really bad experience all around. Might have the worst bed I've ever slept in and we are not casual travelers. Stuffy staff and stuffy rooms. Cleaning lady is downright mean and I'm pretty sure doesn't do a good job when you don't tip her to spite you for not tipping her. Didn't tip her because I had to kill 2...

Enjoying the patio for the music on a Thursday night was delightful. The food, however, left a good deal to be desired. The mussel/clam appetizer had plump clams but the mussels were small and tasteless. The pear/goat cheese salad could have used some fresh salad. Our recommendation: come for the jazz and a wine, but definitely dine elsewhere!

Thank you Julie and staff for planning our annual family reunion this year at the Old Lyme Inn. Everything ran so smoothly considering the weather didn't quite cooperate. Our outdoor event was quickly and effortlessly moved indoors by you and your staff. The food was delicious. Especially the steak and the baked cod! The steak was tender and cooked perfectly,...

We have gone at least 5 times but the last 3 times the food and service was horrible. My daughter ordered a berry tart that had only 4 blueberry's and the cream was not set. The pork was flavorless and served over pasta. Also, the clam chowder was very tasteless and thick. My son's burger was good but the bun...

We loved the Inn so much that we were lucky enough to book an additional night. The rooms are lovely and spacious with period appropriate furnishings. The bathrooms are huge and seems to have recently been remodeled. Staff was extremely helpful and made us feel very welcome. Rooms had a nice sized TV, a coffeemaker and alarm clocks.
