Seems like a lot of the former farmer-folk in this country have morphed into innkeepers and hoteliers. They have these beautiful, old almost-mansion sized properties that are just crying out for occupants, so why not bring them there? This grand dame has stood the test of time since 1763… during the heyday of colonial New England. It’s listed on the...

Wow. This is quite a review--and I mean that in a good positive way! Thank you so much for taking the time for this review! Well, actually never was a farmer. I have been in the hospitality business since high school and I am Cornell Hotelie (Cornell Hotel School) as well. The Owner of BRI is also not a farmer--it's...

Breakast was excellent, friendly staff and nice accomodations. The property was placed on the National Register of Historic Places by US Department of Interior. We attended an event at Lime Rock Park and did not spend much time at the Inn. We did not have time to explore areas around the Inn. There did not seem to be many places...

Thank you for staying with us and taking the time to provide a review for others. Much appreciated! Yes, our main house was built in 1763. Amazing, but only 2 rooms and 2 suites in the main house. Still, the Carriage House is at least 130 years old. There are a variety of activities in this area--both indoor (music, concerts)...

A good Bed & Breakfast starts at the top with the Inn Keeper - how devoted, dedicated, and concerned is this person for the visitor and the establishment. This was a great stay for many reasons but it really began with T.W. the Inn Keeper. Welcoming guy who knows the business inside out and take tremendous pride in everything from...

We had a wonderful time at the Blackberry River Inn! It was quiet, the bed was really comfortable and the breakfasts were delicious with great choices. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the innkeeper was great. It was very close to the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival, where our daughter was performing. The performances were all top level chamber music...

We are very glad you had a wonderful time with us! Yes, we are literally a few minutes drive from the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival. Guests that have attended the Festival have all had very nice things to say about the music and the performers. The Norfolk Farmers Market on Saturdays is also very popular with our guests. Ah, that...

We loved staying at the BBRI! Beds are comfortable, and the breakfasts are delicious! TW and Tabu made us feel at home, and like family! The only recommendation we have would be to have fans in the rooms. The rooms can get stuffy, even with the windows open (the rooms do have a/c units). We will definitely return, next time...

We are delighted you loved your stay with us! Good point about the fans. Most of the rooms and all the suites have ceiling fans actually, but there are a few rooms in the Carriage House that currently do not have a fan. They certainly should have. Thank you for that recommendation. Tabu and I look forward to welcoming you...

We stumbled on the Blackberry River Inn during a road trip to Connecticut, and it was just what we needed after a long drive. The innkeeper was very friendly and helpful, and even upgraded our room when we arrived. The inn was quiet, the grounds were well-kept, and the breakfast was delicious and fresh. We'd definitely recommend this B&B to...

Was pleasantly surprised with the Blackberry River Inn. First of all, the innkeeper, TW, was very kind and hospitable. He greeted us in the parking lot and brought us straight to our room.
