We loved our stay, were there for 2 nights. Clean comfortable. Beautiful bathroom in the smaller of the cabins

Onsite parking which is very convenient.

It is a cottage, not a B&B

Would do it again, and again

My husband found this property on Home Away because the owner Susan welcomes dogs. We went there for our first wedding anniversary and we will definitely be back! In a way this has everything you need, but in a way you have to bring your own of certain things.

We brought food to grill out on Friday night. Do note, if you do this, it is a charcoal grill. Works great, but we were not sure how to use this as our grill at home is gas. We figured it out and had a great meal. The bugs were tough in July - just wish we had some bug prevention devices on the patio. We kept a cooler out back and had a nice dinner/drinks with our dog roaming the yard.

We also brought food for breakfast. There is no stove, but there are two burners that you plug into a wall. There is also a toaster that you can use. We did all of this to save some money and have the "at home" experience. You need to get a little creative with space in the kitchen. She does provide coffee, sugar and filters for you, but bring your own milk and cream.

Saturday morning we walked along the water and shopped around town. Everything is walking distance and extremely convenient.Saturday night we went out to dinner. There is a FANTASTIC oyster place that is about a 5 minute walk called Oyster Club that allowed us to bring our dog. The food was amazing and service was great too. It was great to be able to drink and walk home from where we dined out (vs. plan out who is driving). The location of the house is absolutely perfect to town.

While this is very close to the water, there is no water view. That is literally the only down side.

Susan provides everything you need like sheets and towels. We only stayed the weekend so I am not sure if there is a cleaning service if you stay the week.

We really loved the charm of this place, super cute and quaint. Can't wait to return!

This is not a Bed and Breakfast in case you ran across it in your B&B search. It is indeed very charming and I want to ensure I write an unbiased review that is helpful to all. The price points I feel are high given my comments below-- off season, we paid $200/nightly (had some kind of discount but not significant). This would not be my first choice upon returning.

What you get:
1. Beautiful, charming and spacious room! Beautiful outdoor area/Garden.
2. Microwave, some kitchen supplies for simple on the go meals.
3. Rain shower, spacious bathroom. NO option for traditional shower if you like strong shower heads.
4. Extremely comfortable King Size bed in the "small" unit
5. Free parking (important in peak season)
6. Close access to all of Mystic Shopping spots and dining (there are other areas if you want to walk about 15 min. to the heart of Mystic.
7. Lovely gas fireplace!
8. Small TV w/DVD -difficult to use and sat on top of high shelf

What you get/don't get:
1. NO Breakfast-- we totally overlooked this as B&B sites pushed us here (tripadvisor lists this as a B&B)
2. NOISY refrigerator - I had to unplug in order to sleep
3. NO Room Service - that's ok if you aren't expecting it, but we were actually.
4. Towels were sour-- I have a very sensitive nose and they didn't bother my husband. (Easy fix is to add vinegar to machine and switch to "powder" versus liquid soap and dry immediately)
5. Leftover condiments (i.e. single use honey jar was opened and half used), "used" hotel shampoos, etc.-- we've never had that in any other B&B
6. No comfortable seating for lounging, reading or watching TV; (small TV positioned on very high shelf) - This relegated the property to no more than a Hotel Room but without room service.
7. No historical decor to enjoy (decorated with nice but replicas of Parisian art and such that can be found at any TJ Maxx or department store... was looking forward to a B&B with local art and/or history.
8. If there are guests in the adjacent unit (has a nice couch), the walls are paper thin so I could hear every word ... especially in the bathroom.
9. We had several stink bugs join us-- We would catch them and release as I've heard that if you smash them, they will stink very badly.

My husband and I stayed here for a getaway from the kids weekend. It was perfect for what we wanted. Great location in walking distance to downtown. We stayed on the right side and the accomodations were fantastic. You could not get a hotel room that would be even close for the price. Had a gas fireplace which made it very cozy for the time of year we were there. Backyard looks nice, but we did not use because of the time of year. I will caution that this is not a hotel so if you are looking for that atmosphere would not be the place for you. We liked the privacy and just being left on our own which made this perfect.

Went for a girls weekend. We stayed at the larger carriage house. It was beautifully appointed and clean. Has a king bed and a pull out couch. The pull out couch is supposed to be a full, but we thought looked small. We were 4 friends, but ended up using queen blow up mattress (provided) in order to have enough room. Maybe a pull out couch with queen size bed would be better. I was warned ahead of time that it may be tight for 4 people. We loved the fireplace and all the included soaps, lotions, etc. Loved the backyard, although did not use ourselves due to chill in the air. A great location as downtown shops and restaurants are less than 5 minutes away.
