On my way back home from Massachusetts, I decided to book a room at the Whitehall Mansion as a surprise for my boyfriend, who is a history buff. Once it was booked, I did some research on the place to find that people claimed it was haunted (I liked it even more at that point!). We stayed in Betsy's Chamber....

Dear meredith757, Thank you for taking the time to write a review on Tripadvisor about your experience at the Whitehall Mansion. I am happy to hear that you enjoyed your overnight experience in the Betsy chambers. We stayed here in Lucy's Parlour which was a small room at the top of a narrow flight of stairs. The room is from the late 1700s with wooden, wide plank floors, old furniture and a canopy over the 4-poster bed. There is only one bedside light and table which is awkward for the person on the other side of...

Would have rated it 5 but Lucy did not show up. This is an old mansion from 1776 with modern plumbing and electrical and is supposedly haunted. Each room has a name. We stayed in Lucy's parlor and each room has a journal so you can add an entry. A bottle of wine and dura flame log await for there...

My boyfriend and I are traveling to Bar Harbor ME for vacation and decided to split the drive with a night in Mystic. We chose Whitehall Mansion and were pleasantly surprised. As I opened the door we were immediately taken back to a time long ago in the 1700s. The Betsy was spacious with wide planked wooden floors that sloped...

My girlfriend and I don't really like chain places so we are always looking for something different and this place fits the bill. While not the most picturesque location, it is central to everything in mystic. The staff at the adjacent Marriott, from where you can access any amenities, are extremely nice and accommodating. The building is extremely old but...

This isn't what it bills itself as. It's not an 'inn' but a 1777 building reconstructed in the parking lot of a Marriott on a busy road just off an interstate and used as an annex that they can charge more for. Maybe in the winter with blinds closed and fireplaces on it may seem more authentic. But you will...

The bad first - This old mansion is run by the Marriott (just next to it) and not run very well – very poor Marriott service. It took us about 20 minutes to work out that you’ve to go into the Marriott to check in and get your keys. Every room is meant to get a bottle of wine but...

We had a one night stay on October 10th in Lucy's Parlour and the room was very nice, old and very traditional, all of which we expected. We had no wine on arrival despite this being advertised and despite the fact that crackers and cheese were left out in the Common Room no wine was provided.

Thanks to Trip Advisor we knew to go across the parking lot to the Residence Inn to check in (there is no sign to that effect).
