Stayed over for few nights. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Good value for money. Standards are such that i would happily bring my wife. Restaurant standards can be better though. Food were pricey but then again you are at the ends of the republic in port nolloth. Staff were friendly and helpful during our whole stay. All in all an enjoyable stay.
Lovely hotel, smallish rooms however all the amenities required including a balcony. Not all rooms have a direct sea facing view and you should ask that when booking. The service is good and staff are quite helpful especially considering I came with a full cooler bag that had to be stored in the hotel fridges which they were happy to accommodate. Dining facilities are available at a reasonable cost. The hotel is good value if you are staying over and extremely central in the town.
Many times what's written is not always the experience you get. Here the general positive reviews are so. I am generally easy going. If everything is in good order, safe and clean (very) I am fine. So it proved to be. The staff were helpful with you are our guest we will treat you as such. There is always a however. Guys the pub is just too dark. Could not see my beer on the counter in front of me.........neon lights.....
What a lovely surprise - with a 3 star rating this hotel deserves at least 4 stars from us! Helpful, friendly staff going out of their way to accommodate any possible guest request- very clean, tidy rooms at a very affordable price. Unfortunately only a one night stop over en route to Namibia but definitely recommended ! Hotel restaurant good value for money - good food and exceptionally friendly service. Well done on this one - good Northern Cape hospitality
My husband, my mother and I arrived in Port Nolloth late on a Sunday afternoon. We had booked accommodation which was advertised as “self-catering”, but when we arrived we realised that the self-catering option was extremely limited. We therefore decided to find somewhere to have supper – not an easy task in Port Nolloth on a Sunday evening, let me tell you! The restaurant at the Scotia Inn was the only place which was open. Not expecting much, we decided to try our luck. The restaurant was clean (albeit a bit sterile) and the reception we received from our waitress was very friendly and personable. My mother and I both opted for the kingklip with chips, and while we both enjoyed our meal, I must say that the fish was slightly over-cooked. My husband did not enjoy his pork chops and chips, as the pork chops were dry and they were drenched in a basting sauce. While I would certainly not describe the restaurant as a fine dining establishment, the meal we were served as passable. If, like us, you are caught in Port Nolloth on a Sunday evening trying to find a meal, give the Scotia Inn a try, but do not expect the Ritz.…
