Not a friendly welcome at all. Food not home cooked, sandwich dry. Just not what is expected of a supposedly family pub. Never again First really bad pub we have visited. Shame because lovely area and lovely building. Kids activities, improvement needed

Popped in here for a sandwich lunch a couple of weeks ago and was disappointed. I had expected a nice traditional English pub but it would have looked more at home in a rough part of London! We were deafened by the loud music and chose to sit outside which was quite pleasant, however the food was dreadful. I have...

Went with very low expectations due to previous reviews. Had a lovely time with 5 families. Didn't use pub at all. Staff relaxed and friendly. Loads of kids on BH weekend, all friendly All campers seemed to turn off music by midnight or just after. Great night sleep both nights in completely quiet but busy field. Enough space for kids...

This is the second visit this year to this site. Again had a lovley stay and its still great value for money. We will definitely be booking to go again. The site has bad reviews but on our 2 visits have not had any problems. A gate barrier has been put up to keep out unwanted guest. I would say...

Stopped here with a cycling friend while out on a ride as the first pub we had seen in miles. £4.50 for a huge sausage baguette with salad and crisp s. Very crusty bread nicely presented. Our lunch for two with two glasses of wine came to £18. Nice beer garden to eat in too. Campsite also if ur so...

We were a bit worried about going due to reviews we read on here. Glad we took the chance and went. We had a great time the site was really clean and we'll kept. There was a group in the pub on Saturday and decided to see what they were like, glad we went as the band were good and...

Ten of us ordered food as well as drinks and were kept waiting for over an hour before one member stated her wish to cancel her order and obtain a refund, at which point staff told her "it's on its way". Then another half an hour elapsed when the food still had not appeared for four in the group at...

We visited as a mixed group of 4 around 2pm on a Tuesday afternoon. The only other customers were a couple of locals sitting at the bar. There only appeared to be 2 tables to sit at to eat, with very uncomfortable unpadded wooden chairs. The table was filthy, and overall the atmosphere seemed very bare and austere. The menu...

We stayed for 2 nights on the campsite, to be fair, the staff were helpful, the amenities were adequate to good, everything worked. We ate in the pub and were served by a lovely young lady who was courteous and polite and the food was very good for the prices charged. All pretty good so far . . . But...

The strangers home is a typical English country pub. Over 20 years since my last visit and it still was there and more importantly for me the atmosphere and ambiance was still there. The counter meals are good, the beer is cold and the pool table is level. It holds a special place in my heart and I'm looking forward...
