We stayed in a ground floor bedroom with obvious damp patch and unpleasant odour. The room was very uncomfortable. On politely pointing this out- the owner who had previously been friendly and welcoming immediately took offence and became unpleasant. she created a massive scene, declaring she wouldn't dream of taking our money. Surprisingly she managed to charge £192 to our...

Audrey and Ian are great hosts. The room and bathroom were very clean and comfortable. Location very quiet. They recommended a very nice Inn for dinner and we told other people who were after a last minute room to stay there which they did. Breakfast was delicious with home made tattie scones. We will go back.

We stayed at the Vicarsford Lodge for 2 nights as my eldest son was playing a golf completion in St. Andrew's (which is an easy 10 min drive away). Audrey and her son are fantastic hosts - they made us feel very welcome and our stay was comfortable. Breakfast catered for everyone's needs and was divine. My 2 boys want...

Very friendly family run guest house. Could not have been made to feel more welcome. Room was clean and comfortable with tea/coffee making facilities available, bathroom had everything needed. Views were fabulous. Would definitely return. Could be classed as a bit out of the way depending on what you were looking for.

Our hostess Audrey and her son Ian welcomed us and immediately made us and our friends very welcome. The ladies had a good chat with Audrey, who kindly rang and booked a table for us in a restaurant at the end of the road. Our menfolk got settled in the lounge to watch the golf and chat with ian who...

Audrey and her son Ian looked after my son and I very well for the couple of days we stayed. Both the room and bathroom were spacious, clean and well kept. The breakfast freshly cooked was a real pleasure, and we discovered the added extras of the full "Scottish " Breakfast. Thank you very much we enjoyed your company and...

Had a great two-night stay. Rooms were clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. You get a great choice of breakfasts, which are all freshly cooked and very generous. The hosts are the most wonderful and welcoming people you could hope to meet - we even got a nightcap in front of the fire on the first night. Would...

My husband and I were visiting Fife for a friend's wedding and so was looking for a place to stay for 3 nights, which was affordable and close to Anstruther. We came across this delightful Guest House, and I am so happy that we stayed here. Audrey and her son Ian took care of us, paid attention to our needs...

Great room, great food, great hospitality... What more do you need? Really friendly hosts without any imposition. An out of the way gem if you're looking for peace and quiet and a lovely place to stay. You'll need a car to get around, but taxis find it just fine.
