The Gris is a place to visit if you enjoy dark historic buildings with uneven floors and so-on. If that moves you, you will be likely blinded and not be critical of the cuisine.

We travel to the Griswold Inn once a year. We recently came in October and had a wonderful time. Service was great and everyone was very friendly. We wandered around Essex and went up to Godspeed Opera House to see a play; great time.
This is an example of an old inn with lots of history that is well cared for. We had a very comfortable time for our little get -away. The room we had was small but comfortable. There are many different configurations of accommodations though.
