Mia the owner is very nice, but it felt as though we were renting a room instead of staying at an upscale B and B. The choices for breakfast entries were waffles or french toast, so if you are staying several days the breakfast menu is very limited, with very small portions. You fill out a preprinted menu at night...

True to its original role as a private residence, The Boardman House has tried to maintain the intimacy and privacy of a home while embracing guests with genuine, warm and intuitive service making the guest feel as they were visiting a friend. As mentioned on our website, we do indeed serve a complimentary breakfast that is prepared by the selections...

We arrived at Boardman House around 1 PM only to find a chain across the driveway! Went to the front door and it was locked! Not terribly welcoming! Finally, the Innkeeper let us in. Our room was quite lovely, but there was no turn-down at night, which I found to be unusual for an upscale B&B. Further, not a cookie...

We always try to exceed expectations, but when they are unrealistic and not based on our commitments or common sense they become impossible to fulfill. The guest showed up 12.30PM and demanded to check in. The only reason we were able to accommodate the early arrival and allowing the guest to check in was that their room happened to be...

If you're looking for a really nice, impeccably clean, beautifully- appointed (in Swedish-style decor) place to treat yourself for one or two nights, the Boardman House Inn B&B will satisfy. We stayed in the Boardman Room on the first floor, just to the left of the entryway. This room has windows facing 3 different directions, a tastefully-updated bathroom with in-floor...

I am giving the Boardman House Inn a 4 star rating primarily based upon the room that we stayed in on the last night of our 3 night stay and the fact that the inn is impeccable clean, convenient to the Goodspeed Opera House and that I think the innkeepers are very nice and hard working people. If I was...

Dear Guest, Please let us apologize that your Boardman House experience was not as you expected. We appreciate your feedback on your stay at our inn. The Boardman House is a 1860 antique historic inn. Yes, some of our rooms are smaller than others- this is reflected in our rate structure. You reserved the Queen room for your stay which...

Staying at a B&B is a trade-off: more charm, extra personal attention and a great breakfast but fewer amenities and services than a hotel in exchange for a lower price.I realize the economic issues involved in running a B&B but, unfortunately, the Boardman House does not entirely fulfill its end of the bargain. First, the good. The Inn is very...

We are sorry that you weren't completely satisfied with your stay with us. Yes, it may seem impossible to make everybody happy but we still make every attempt to do so. My two sisters and I recently returned from a six night stay at the Boardman House Inn in East Haddam, Connecticut. Built in 1860 by Luther Boardman, a local manufacturer of Britannia ware, this historic house has been lovingly restored by owners Mr. and Mrs. Hymander. Set in a quiet, safe neighborhood, the inn is impressive upon arrival. Everything here...

If you are going to Connecticut you must stay at the Boardman House Inn! My sisters and I spent six nights there and it was wonderful! The home was spotless and very well maintained. Mia, the owner, was personable and friendly. She prepared delicious breakfasts each morning and shared in our stories of the previous days adventures. Our rooms were...

This B & B was a true pleasure to stay at. My wife and I stayed there for a weekend in May 2015. We were in the area for a wedding and wanted to try a Bed and Breakfast. We are both glad we chose the Boardman House and will definitely stay again if we are the area.

We stayed the Boardman House for a pre-anniversay trip on April 19, 2015. Also spent the evening at the Good Speed Opera House seeing Guys and Dolls.
