Not sure exactly why, I guess I'm comparing places I've stayed throughout the world, but this place, although incredibly charming, seemed pricey at $150 per night. Sure, it's knockout remodel of an old Victorian hotel is superb, with clawfoot tubs and transom light above the doors etc. is delightful, I just felt a bit gouged with the price, especially since...

We stayed for one night and enjoyed it. The place is in great condition but still has a period feel. The rooms are moderately sized. Modern bathrooms with claw bath tubs. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The have a beautiful old west bar attached to the lobby. The restaurant was not open when we were there so I...

Stayed at the newly refurbished Grand and it was very nice. Though after skiing/hiking all day the trek to the third floor ( no elevator) was a bit hard. The room was very nice and super clean. Wall are thin so had some noise issues. The first night big party in the bar on the first floor the band kept...

Had the privilege of staying here for some New Year skiing with Silverton Mountain, and the place is fantastic! A recent major renovation has this place looking amazing, and feeling like a proper up-to-date Victorian style hotel should! Fantastic staff, a superb manager, and wonderfully comfortable rooms add up to a great Silverton experience. Located in the middle of town,...

Visited the Grand Imperial in October '16 and found it to be beautifully restored with seemingly every detail intact. The rooms were very clean, nicely set with antique furniture juxtaposed with a flat screen to watch football. Make sure you bring your hiking shoes - it is a historic hotel so there are no elevators (if elevators are your thing,...

We took the train from Durango to Silverton and stayed overnight at The Grand Imperial. The hotel was lovely. We had a room on the second floor - it was large and bright with lots of historic touches, even down to the Mark Twain books on the shelves. We were told when we booked the hotel that there was no...

Called in for lunch and what a lunch it was. I had the onion soup with an onion soup burger. Someone els had the bison burger and 2 had braised bison with mash and we all enjoyed the huge portions. Service was very speedy, in fact the drinks were on the table before we finished ordering! There was a resident...

We took the train up from Durango, stayed the night in the Grand Imperial and returned to Durango on the train the next day. This is better than riding the train both ways on the same day which can be a bit tedious. The Grand Imperial now belongs to the owners of the Durango-Silverton Railroad and they have refurbished it...

`We had a corner room on the 2nd floor, very large. Bed was very comfortable. Needed the little step stool to get up in the bed. Employees are very friendly. It is only about 1 block from the train station.
