What a lovely escape! The grounds are humbling and the cabin nothing extraordinary, but give it time and you'll realize that what is special about this place, is the people. Dan and Ellen are wonderful hosts and they hire a delightful staff of real cowboys and cowgirls. This vacation was so much fun for my teenagers, we will be going...

We had a wonderful time at Sundance Trails. The owners, staff, and other guests were lovely, and the food was delicious. Unfortunately, the mattresses were old and uncomfortable. Also, the trails are limited -- if you spend an entire week you will not get much variety.

Thank you! We cannot tell you how grateful we are when folks point out areas that we can improve. Most (but not all!) of the mattresses were rotated out in the last three years. Obviously we missed one, or very likely it was changed out in the 8 months since your stay. We always have extras in storage and could...

My husband and I stumbled upon Sundance Trail Guest Ranch and decided to book a few days to celebrate our anniversary. We were thrilled to be able to bring our dog Toby, and even more excited as we pulled in to the ranch. The setting is beautiful, the ranch-style accommodations are wonderful, the home-cooked food was delicious and plentiful. I...

Ellen writes: Linda! it's heartwarming to hear you enjoyed learning about riding on Chism - he's a sweetie and a flirt! And so glad to hear that Jeff had fun on his more adventuresome ride on Stevie! Sharing our table and our bit of paradise with y'all and your lovely canine was our pleasure. Thank you for your kind words!...

This was my second trip to Sundance. It was all I expected and more! The first time I went was with my kids and this time it was a romantic get away. Both times were perfect! The ranch is just outside a National Park that you can ride horses through and the views are breathtaking. The wranglers are patient with...

It was so good to see you again! You and Anthony added a sparkle to our meals, especially with your tales of joys and "adventures" with your new house (and frogs!).And Anthony certainly kept the wranglers alert! It really warms our hearts to see folks return and ride "their" horses again. Maybe we'll see you when the kids get back from...

We visited Sundance twice in two months! First as a romantic getaway and then with the kids and the dog. Dan and Ellen have mastered the art of hospitality in the mountains. The staff follows their passion for ensuring a memorable experience for all. The silence there, the beautiful night sky full of stars, home cooking, great trails and horses...

Meeting you and Michelle (and the kids) has been one of the most heartwarming experiences of the year So much sunshine in your smiles and laughter! We're so grateful that y'all live so close, and that you will soon be completely addicted to our (now your) horses. And thank you for your truly challenging philosophical questions and insights. Now... if...

I spent four nights in April 2014, at Sundance Trail Guest Ranch, with my Dog, Rosy. I always wanted to ride horses but my fear got in the way. I was nervous going to an unknown place by myself but I pushed past the fear. I got unpacked I walked around the beautiful grounds with Rosy and relaxed in the...

~It was so good to see you and Rosy again last week (October, 2015)! What happened to the anxious little dog who hid behind Momma Holly all the time? Why, she's becoming a flirt! Holly, you are doing miracles with her. ~And you? What happened to the somewhat timid horse back rider? She's becoming quite a cowgirl! I cannot tell...

This was our first vacation at Sundance Trail and it definitely won't be our last. From the moment we arrived, we knew this place was special. My two teenage boys and I were greeted by Dave, one of the wranglers, and led on a quick tour of the ranch. We then joined our fellow travelers to enjoy drinks and appetizers...

~Sam! Legs is asking about you! ~Dylan~ The wranglers will have a bed for you in the men's bunkhouse as soon as you turn 18. Get some sleep now - you're going to need it! ~New activities for Spring 2015: maybe a slingshot range? maybe a Tough Mudder obstacle course? Who know? Maybe a catapult!

Sundance Trail is amazing. I am NOT an outdoor girl, I am a bonafide city girl. Sundance really got me into the "cowboy" spirit; the property made me really appreciate nature and the great outdoors. The staff was welcoming and awesome. I didn't tell them I was Gluten Free right away, and once one of the cooks found out, they...

Within 5 minutes of arriving, you'll feel like you've known Dan & Ellen and the staff forever, and it's true, you are not simply a guest, you're family. The ranch is just the right size for about 25 guests so you make new friends quickly, not like larger ranches with 100 guests and you don't know who half of them...
