Dan and Ellen are such wonderful hosts! The food was amazing! Beautiful ranch and extremely friendly staff. Michelle and Chris could not have been more helpful! We had a great girls family trip! Cabins are clean and cozy.

We had a great time! hanging out in the hot tub watching the stars, a beautiful horseback ride, friendly staff and great food! We also brought our adult son with Down syndrome and they were awesome with him! I highly recommend staying here!

Have you read “Last Child in the Woods”? We hope to give every guest an opportunity to explore the forest as much as you want! Down Syndrome does NOT exclude an explorer from the beauty of an evening campfire, the smell of pines or the nose-nuzzle of a horse-new-friend. Being small and owned by two RN's, we welcome kids and...

Beautiful place. Fun, knowledgeable staff. In the course of just a couple days we did everything. Rustic but still comfortable, exciting but still safe. I went with a bachelor party. I would go back with my friends or my kids. Thank you Sundance Trail for a great time!

We always book bachelor and bachelorette parties with just a touch of anxiety. Will we have to replace furniture? Will the sheriff come with noise complaints from the neighbors? You gentlemen partied pretty enthusiastically and we enjoyed every minute! It was great fun to share our home with you and we'd love to see each of you again soon! Also,...

A week of relaxing and horseback riding at Sundance Trails was the perfect get away from life. Encouraged to unplug and set your own pace, Sundance offered the perfect place to do so. Marci, Roddy, and the rest of the staff help to make you feel at home while away from home.

Hi Julie!“Unplug and set your own pace.” To us this is high praise! What a great way to describe sharing our lifestyle with y'all! We're so glad that your week with us was the get-away that you needed. Maybe we will see you again next summer?

You can design your own way through each day. Well schooled horses and excellent wranglers to lead you every step of the way if you need. More than half of our group had never ridden a horse before and it was a lot of fun because of the staff and the well trained horses. Very solid chuckwagon style food that...

Hello Rob, Thank you for your kind words. We are glad that you “found lots to do and permission to do nothing”! That about sums it up. That's what our life here is all about. Of course you fellas are what we call “easy keepers”! You brought the attitude to have fun, and we brought the horses. See you soon...

This is the most beautiful place Dan and Ellen are wonderful hosts and the Ranch is in the most gorgeous spot. The riding was excellent the staff match you to a horse and it's your horse for the week. We found the riding great fun and we were encouraged to learn and improve our riding through the week. Our daughter...

Hello Sian, Alex and Zoey. You are right! We are so grateful for the beauty we live in every day. This part of the Rocky Mountains has been described as “the front hallway of heaven.” Zoey was so kind to not take off and leave her parents in her dust! We now have high speed internet and cell service, and...

I just want to name each person who works at the ranch and describe the way they made last week so special to us, but I know that it would turn into a ten-page review and nobody would take the time to read it all. So, here goes with the abbreviated version: EVERY SINGLE PERSON we encountered at the ranch...

Hello Noel, Myria, Mary and Lily! We like to say that our “product” is a delighted guest. And this summer we were blessed with the most enthusiastic, joyful staff of cooks, kangaroos and wranglers. (Owner's note: a “kangaroo” is a housekeeper who also leads hikes, teach climbing/belaying, are range masters on the rifle and shotgun range; they just hop around...

I visited Sundance Trail for a week in the fall several years ago with my son. I remembered a great time so when I was moving my daughter to Denver last week and had a free day to ride I called the ranch to see if that was possible. Ellen and Dan were most accommodating and so I spent a...

It was so good to see you again Beth! We love having guests return; you are as much a part of the ranch as we owners, staff and the critters. We're thrilled to see Jesse is now a TripAdvisor celebrity, she deserves it. She'll be returning to university soon, and we will mis her. And we're tickled that you could...

My parents booked this trip for our extended family to celebrate their 50 anniversary. We had a total blast. We had a good cabin, although we spent almost no time there. We did a large amount of riding, real riding. Not one horse waking behind another. In 3 days they had us trotting and loping, not like pros, but we...

Hi Mark! Our goals are simple! We work to help each guest get VERY dirty and very tired every day (Dax, John & Ryan didn't need much help!); a bit sore (I remember you and Russell both walking like honest-to-goodness cowboys!); and delighted. Mark, with your clan, this was easy! Thank you for being such fun guests! Jesse, Chelsea, Kate...

We had a great trip to Sundance Trail. I was a very happy non-rider who enjoyed the food, the hot tub, the views, and all of the other activities offered (hiking, rock climbing, square dancing, etc.). Our older son (age 12) has a disability but was fully supported by the wranglers (led by the very competent Caitlyn). He especially connected...

Audry, the only disability we recognize here is "Recreation Deficit Disorder." Although Ellen and Dan are both RN's, they just don't seem to notice the trivial stuff like CP or hemiparesis, or blindness or autism or whatever. With cowboys like Bennet and Sam, the cure is simple: horses. Yup, getting VERY dirty, pretty darned tired, and maybe a little sore...
