Staff was pleasant to work with and rooms were clean,. Shower stall was so small I could not fit in it without bumping my elbows against the sides (I am 5'2"', 110 lbs!) and the shower head was so high the spray barely hit me....More

This is a well-restored and preserved 1940's small vacation motel. While the rooms are updated (more electric outlets, new windows) it retains the feel of the 1940's , even the marvelous neon sign! This includes the small bathroom of the era, although the rooms may...More

The neon sign is the original. So amazed every night how it still turns on like clockwork for over 65 years! I wish I knew what the symbol in the middle represents, something worthy I'm sure, which is why it's incorporated into our new logo...More

The Matterhorn Mountain Motel was a great place to stay! This time of year not much is open in Lake City, but the Matterhorn stays open year round for visitors. Our room was bright and clean, with a cute kitchenette that was fully stocked with...More

Oops, I got caught enjoying the Guest's hot-tub :) It is there for all of you, though, and just so you know I keep it squeaky clean, and it's the best spot in Lake City for the sunrise or for stargazing! Thanks for your memories...More

Rooms overlook the town, convenient to everywhere; staff very responsive to any requests. Onsite owner keeps things taken care of. We plan to stay here again next year when we come for the annual elk hunting season.

Hello! One of our historic cottages is wheelchair accessible. It has a ramp up onto the porch, with a 35" entry door and 35" bathroom door. There are handles on the toilet, and the shower you can roll right into, and we also... More
