The room was very clean. Bed comfortable. However at 77 years old I am not into having freezing showers. Tried before bed and first thing in morning to no avail. Didn't matter how long the water ran it remained freezing. Spoilt a lovely stay. We even had to boil the jug to wash the coffee cups. .

We only had one night at the Golden Palms and we were pleasantly surprized. My partner booked it and when I saw the main road location next to a hotel I was a little worried about the noise level - I'm a very light sleeper. BUT there was no issues at all - unless you think some noisy lorikeets in the morning rate as a problem........ Our room was on the hotel side of the motel - not at the front. [Plenty of glasses & cups, but no plates/bowls - maybe available on request ??] Microwave/toaster/electric jug provided - there may have been knives/forks/spoons

The most expensive room is what I'd expect from a n caravan park. 2 rooms sharing a main door out and for the most expensive room too?! Other people's hair still in bathroom and dirty water stains on the sink.

This Motel is great value for money. Excellent and very friendly service is offered by the Owner John. It is an extremely clean Motel nicely appointed in the room. ALL YOU NEED. It's location is great as you have the Grovedale Hotel immediately beside who offers great atmosphere along with excellent meals. Motel also is a short drive to the Waurn Ponds Shopping Centre that offers everything.

Great location, Close to beaches, shopping and attractions. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff were very nice to deal with. We recommend the Golden Palms highly if you are heading to Geelong.

Have stayed here before but not too sure I will again. Clean facilities and convenient location. However I was surprised at the lack of cutlery and dishes. There was a kettle, microwave and toaster but no plates, knives, forks, spoons or bowls. Never stayed anywhere that did not have these in the room. On our last morning of the stay, someone entered our room prior to 9am, when I called out letting them know I was there, instead of backing out the man stuck his head around the door to apologize. Can forgive the error of thinking the room was empty but was very surprised he felt the need to look all the way in.

Clean, well positioned and very quiet place to spend the night. If hungry, you have a pub next door and it is just one minute away. I will highly recommend this motel for your stop before heading to the Great Ocean Road.

quiet with friendly staff ,John and Lynn exceptional hosts, ideally located with a short drive to city or Torquay- bus stop adjacent to motel ,walking distance to local hotel for meals and short drive to shopping centre also some great little cafes close by.Highly recommended We'll definitely be back.

While the motel looks basic, it is quiet and comfortable The staff were very helpful I parked in front of the room, which was comfortable and clean I slept well in the peaceful environment I will definitely stay again when in the area

I needed a room at short notice due to the death of a family member. I needed to extend my stay twice, again at short notice. The staff were kind, helpful and accommodating at all times and managed to find me rooms even though they were heavily booked. The spa rooms are excellent: huge, self-contained and quiet. (If you want to use the spa you will have to pay extra for the water due to water restrictions.) The rooms along one side are dated. But all the rooms are spotless and comfortable. The Grovedale Hotel is next door and has excellent meals, and the Sandstone Cafe is within walking distance and is open for breakfast from 9 am.
