It is an extremely clean Motel nicely appointed in the room. ALL YOU NEED. It's location is great as you have the Grovedale Hotel immediately beside who offers great atmosphere along with excellent meals.
Motel also is a short drive to the Waurn Ponds Shopping Centre that offers everything.
This by far, is the best place I have ever stayed in, in all my travels.
And I came about this place out of desperation because I needed accomodation at the very last minute.
The owners were extremely friendly and there was no fuss whatsoever.
I love being able to park my car right in front of my room. And when I opened the door on that cold night, I was extremely pleased and delighted with the room.
It was huge, especially for a solo traveller. Not a lot of apartments these days are as big as the rooms (or maybe I am exageratting). There was a welcome tray with instructions. Free foxtel and free-to-air channels with no broadcast interruptions, no matter the weather. FREE WIFI!!!! Very important these days. So happy with that.
Kettle, Microwave(!!!), it was a mini kitchen, without the stove.
Mirrors everywhere, for a young(ish) girl like me, so I can always make sure I am fully presentable when I step out into the world, not that there was much people to see me anyway. (That sounded so vain and pathetic also, but who cares. My review)
The bathroom was huge as well. I could sleep on that whole bathroom top. It was that long. The showerhead was excellent. Strong water pressure. I mean, some 5-star hotels dont even give their guests decent water pressure. I honestly did not want to come out of that shower. It felt awesome.
The heater-air conditioner unit also worked well and it was away from the bed, which was good, so the sound didnt bother me a bit.
Wardrobe. Huge! If only I had more clothes, it wouldnt have felt empty. And continuing the theme, I could sleep in there as well and have more than enough room to toss and turn.
Can I say how big the room was again? I could practically do somersaults in there (not that I can anymore - not saying Im old, mind you). And so, so clean. I love walking barefoot in the room, since I did not have to worry about getting my feet dirty.
Even though my room was close to the main road, I did not even hear any traffic.
The only cons I have was that I would have preferred an electrical socket by the bed so I could charge my phone easily.
Other than that, the best living experience I have ever had overseas, which definitely helped my crappy trip.
For the price, which was reasonable, it was a fantastic experience.
I will highly recommend this motel for your stop before heading to the Great Ocean Road.
No rubbish bin or table, towel rack falling off the wall, main room TV almost at floor level and other (tiny) TV with a remote that doesn’t work.
For the price we paid, we expected way better.
On our last morning of the stay, someone entered our room prior to 9am, when I called out letting them know I was there, instead of backing out the man stuck his head around the door to apologize. Can forgive the error of thinking the room was empty but was very surprised he felt the need to look all the way in.
.
The staff were very helpful
I parked in front of the room, which was comfortable and clean
I slept well in the peaceful environment
I will definitely stay again when in the area
"Ask for a room with a spa because these rooms are newer, bigger and self-contained."Read full review
