Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great free campsites, large camping ground, over 2000 square metres of camp able area. Has a recently replaced pit toilet. Water available from the creek or Ovens River. Water may be quite cold so caution with swimming is recommended and currents are be strong in the river there.

Basic camping area with pit toilet that is kept clean by locals. In state forest with ability to have a fire. One picnic table but lots of flat sites and good access for 2WD. Not packed out over Christmas/New Year and only 15 km from Bright with access to bike trails, shops, cafes, kids water park and river swimming area. Need to bring own water.

We had no trouble setting up camp 24th to 28th December. Land is flat with access to running water in the Ovens River and to a well maintained drop toilet. Can get busy but plenty of room down many tracks to have some privacy. 15min drive into Bright.

This campground is free.

Catch a trout, stay a night or few beside your RV, tent or small to medium size caravan or camper trailer. Drop toilet, fireplaces, and direct access to the states famous Ovens River.

A good 15-20km out of town to ensure quietness and opportunities for spotting occasional wildlife. The unsealed access road has conditions which vary and occasional potholes or a fallen branch may be encountered as its not serviced daily.

Room Tip: Arrive during daylight if with a larger trailer, the access road is unsealed.

The site is free to stay, and operated by the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning. Sites are not marked and camping areas are available in a first come, first served basis. No reservations are available. Guests may arrive or depart anytime, drive carefully at night as the access road is unsealed and there is no street lighting. I think most likely you'll find a spot, though popularity of the site is steadily increasing.
