Very historic and old fashioned hotel that is very friendly. Rooms are a bit small but the bed was comfortable and the buffet breakfast was wonderful. They also have a cozy fireplace area to just hang out. Great place for a quiet getaway.

This creaky old gem is one-of-a-kind. It's rusticity mixed with shabby Victorian gentility. It's a step back in time----you'd never know where you were if someone blindfolded you and asked where you were. This is the home of South Park--yes,THAT South Park! The South Park section of FairPlay is right down the street and a large sign says...WELCOME TO SOUTH...

This old building features wonderful rooms with high ceilings. The wood floors creak but the beds are very comfortable. It is like a bed and breakfast without the breakfast. As it turned out, finding breakfast in this small town was a bit of a problem. We did find one place open. I thought the rates were really good also. We...

The staff is friendly, the hotel experience was okay. As indicated, it's historic but felt the upkeep of the rooms could have been better, i.e., poorly painted over wallpaper. However, the room was very clean. There are only sheers for window covers so I had to wear an eye mask. Location was walking distance to the place I visited so...

Clean and comfortable. Just a little bit of street noise. We had a king sized bed and it took up most of the room in the room. Breakfast was not included but there was tea and coffee available all day.

Driving to Crested Butte last Friday, we decided it was too late to drive and so we stopped in Fairplay. John, the night manager was super friendly and helpful in getting us checked in in and situated at 11pm. I loved everything about the hotel from the hot tea at night, to the extremely comfortable mattress, the charm of squeaky...

The hotel was built in the 1920s. The current owner is trying to refurbish the décor in the hotel that was damaged by the previous management.. There are 8 to 10 foot windows in some of the room. The rooms are not large but very comfortable. The bathrooms are updated. There is a restaurant on site but unfortunately was closed...

This hotel very old in an old mining town. It is furnished with things that represent its history. I loved the quilts on the beds and the dressing table with a mirror. The beds weren't so comfortable, but the ambiance and the friendly staff were great. Breakfast was not much. I would go back anyway, as I love historic places.

This is not at all what we expected from the reviews. It is an old hotel that is very much still an old hotel. The bed was okay and the room was clean. The hotel staff, one person, was definitely not attentive to customer needs and was never at the desk or responsive to the bell he had for being...
