Stayed during the Bluegrass Meltdown, and took one of the last rooms left, a lovely premium room, so understand the 200$ per night. Lovely room and customer servic. The wifi almost nonexistent. Maybe because of the festival?

Thank you very much for selecting the historic Strater Hotel. It was our honor to host you. Thank you for the information about the WiFi. Normally we have excellent Wifi signal strength however we did notice a reduction in service during the Durango Bluegrass Meltdown. We are exploring options to insure our guests have good WiFi service when we host...

The interior of the building is awesome. It causes you to feel like your in the old west. The food is good and they have nightly entertainment in the "old west" bar. Stayed one night. Had reservations for two nights but due to the fact that the air conditioning stopped working at 3:30 I decided to switch to another hotel...

We stay at the Strater when we are in the Durango area. The hotel is old but has been upgraded and is very comfortable. They have 2 pet friendly rooms. The Diamond Belle Saloon is located on the ground floor. The rooms are nice sized and the beds are comfy. Neat spot to stay in downtown.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay here. This place is a vintage hotel—not a hotel that is decorated to look "vintage." With that in mind, everything feels like it's from the distant past, which is a positive. While the amenities don't feel modern and up to date, that's not. Bad thing and is kind of the point. Having...

Fantastic historical hotel with beautiful design and antiques this place is a must. Our first room had a strange noise going on which nobody seemed to know the source so Austin on reception changed our room no problem in fact the next room was a bit larger I must say at this point Austin was a pleasure to deal with...

Stayed at the Strater Hotel in downtown Durango for two nights and had a great stay. It's a lovely old hotel that's well maintained and has a great staff. The rooms we decent size considering the age of the building, but we were in a section that may have been added on more recently so the "original" rooms may be...

We always try to stay in old, historic hotels when we can find one. We have stayed here a number of times and always enjoy it. The rooms are charming. They have the largest collection of antique walnut furniture in the country. I am not really into antiques, but the furniture is impressive. They have a nice dining room and...

Very nice hotel for an authentic upscale old west experience. Live music in the bar and a great location for seeking out food and drinks in downtown. Room was small but very comfortable. Just a block from the train station

Stayed there couple weeks ago. I didn't like it. It does have all these old stuff ,but doesn't have this old charm. It looks like an old barn. All funiture need to be taken care of. So is a smell of the place... The mattress was very good and comfortable, but that's the one plus.

Staying at this hotel is a slice of heaven. You are living a piece of Colorado's history when you stay there. The two lounges and restaurant continue the beautiful historical journey. The rooms are lovely and beds supremely comfortable. The bathrooms admittedly are small and walls perhaps a bit "thin" but these types of unfortunate physical details cannot be helped...
