We loved it here. Beautiful room with a view of town. Loved the Durango-Silverton train that comes and goes. Everyone at the hotel was accommodating, and friendly, from front desk to maintenance staff. Can't wait to come back for another visit. Thanks for making our stay so pleasant.

Great hotel and made Durango worth the visit. If we hadn't stayed at this great hotel, unlikely we would have enjoyed Durango as much. Great Hotel! Breakfast was great too! Bed was super comfortable and front desk were very nice too.

Very pleasant room with a comfortable bed. We stayed in the Palace Wing. We were suspicious when the hotel made us sign a disclaimer about external noise in room. Wifi never worked for entire 2 night stay - hotel gave us $20 discount but we would have preferred service to work. Very poor soundproofing between rooms - we had a...

Dear ashvalejim2, Thank you for your honest feedback; we appreciate it as we continue to make tweaks as we maintain our 4th Diamond with AAA. We have maintained our 4-Diamond rating for 33 consecutive years. We are a historic hotel (built in 1898) so although our building underwent a renovation, we were constrained to making specific changes due to the...

My Wife and I stayed there for 3 nights mid Sept. We had great upgraded Suite due to reservation goof. Very professional and friendly staff. Nice views from room and common patio. Right next to D & S RR. Lots of steam loco action. Review is of Main Building. We passed on the next door annex building.

Old West charm and elegance with all the modern amenities. Lovely quiet room with very comfortable bed and great down pillows. Wonderful terry robes, soft thick towels, real wine glasses, Keurig coffee maker and nice soap etc. Warm and welcoming staff and decent breakfast although at the price it would be nice to be served instead of motel' style. Only complaint...

The General Palmer Hotel is a beautifully restored hotel in the middle of downtown Durango. The service was exceptional! The location, right next to the train station and in the middle of the Durango historic district, was perfect. The only thing you need to be aware of is the noise from the street in the evening (but not all night...

This hotel is so elegant with lots of vintage decorations. We wish we could have stayed more than one night. Elevator is so old, it'll hold only two people with minimal luggage. Our room was adequate for just the two of us...it even had a Murphy bed which lowered from the wall. You also had a teddy bear waiting for...

Im really happy I stayed here. The hotel was so charming and I felt as if I had stepped back in time. The location was excellent right on the main street and the decor of the hotel was charming. The room was small but adequate, breakfast could have been better. The location is also next to the train and I...

Everything written about this hotel is accurate. It is quaint, staff very friendly and nice, close to everything in town. Which is the problem. When you sign into the hotel, you are asked to sign a waver that the hotel has not control over the noise. And it is not the train noise, which is expected. It is the noise...
