I recommend this hotel for everyone visiting Durango as it is pretty close to everything. Durango and Silverton narrow gauge railroad attraction is just a block away. Hotel staff is very friendly and very helpful, specially Sarah is such a wonderful person. She had our room decorated with goodies and gifts for kids, kept some fruits when we returned from...

Everything was perfect, from the room to breakfast to great friendly service the whole time. Views from the room were nice. Nice patio area, even though it was winter. The hotel has a really cool old elevator. CD player with classical music CDs and a Keurig in the room were a nice touch also.

We have been on the road for four weeks and this is the best of all of our accomadations. The General Palmer Hotel is a historic hotel located in the heart of a wonderful western town. The hotel is very elegant with old fashioned luxury. Our room was large, the bed was very comfortable with high quality linens, the windows...

The General Palmer offered a great opportunity to stay overnight in Durango. We jumped at discounted room so we could spend the afternoon and evening in town without needing to drive anywhere. The Palmer is on main street, with good parking and surprisingly quiet rooms. Ours was an upgrade from interior (no windows in some rooms - be careful about...

The GENERAL PALMER HOTEL was a great hotel to stay for 3 nights while attending the events of SNOWDOWN 2017. Located right downtown so we walked to restaurants and other charming business along Main Street. It’s right next door to the Durango/Silverton Railroad. From using the oldest working elevator in Colorado to the extraordinary service we received from the staff...

Last minute reservation, hotel is gorgeous! Clean, great bed, beautiful decor. The staff was super kind and helpful. Relaxing CD's and player in room. I was traveling alone and there were not a lot of people near me so noise was not a problem. If you want complete privacy voices from others outside my room were heard easily. Train nearby...

Great location in downtown with free parking at the Hotel. The Town itself was clean and the people we met were friendly. The Staff was friendly and cost was very competitive. We bought the breakfast package and it was well worth it.

Stopping in Durango on our way to LA, we wanted something other than a chain hotel. The General Palmer had the charm of an old hotel, but with all the updated amenities. Our queen room was perfect in every way. Off season price made it perfect!
