What a fun adventure sleeping in a "once upon a time" classroom complete with chalkboards. The historic school, now a B&B, is full of history with art work and stories. The staff was friendly and accommodating in every way. What a fun place to celebrate a birthday. Early June seemed to be a good time to explore Cripple Creek area...

Carr Manor is a beautiful historic place to stay if you enjoy the fine points of immersing yourself in local history when you travel. We stayed in the "Principal's Office" and it was cozy, clean, and comfortable. The entire building is loaded with historic documents, photos and furniture from Cripple Creek's past, which alone is worth seeing. The hosts are...

We have had the pleasure of staying with family and friends at the Carr Manor on Presidents weekend for the past several years. I can't say enough great things about this remodeled school from the 1800's. Every room is themed, but still has the old schoolhouse charm including chalkboards in each room and hallway. The service is first class along...

Cripple Creek is a good 1 or 2 night getaway and Carr Manor is a comfy place to stay. There are boring Casino hotels with noisy slot machines, mediocre B&Bs, but for a homey, pleasant, place in a historical setting, nothing compares to Carr Manor. It is barely a block from all the hubbub of Bennett Ave yet it fells...

Wow! Cripple Creek is a fun little town (with casinos) and a lot of historic buildings (which are now casinos). The Carr Manor is something you'd probably never notice walking by, but it's an amazing B&B. A former high school, each room used to be a classroom -- the owners have kept the original blackboards and decorated with historic artifacts....

As a retired school teacher and one who once taught in a school in Illinois that looked like Carr Manor, it was a delight to stay here. The renovated building is a treasure trove of history, but also a most comfortable, luxurious bed and breakfast. The rooms range from charmingly simple to suite size and quite elaborate. The breakfasts were...

An absolutely charming and historic place to stay!!!!! Owners are friendly and love to give the history of this lovely 1800's High school turn B&B. A must stay!!!! You'll take pictures of the interior before you make it out the door for the casinos!!! B' Fast is fancy! Chocolate wine sauce on your fresh breakfast fruit!!! Plus Eggs Florentine and...

We discovered Carr Manor through Trip Advisor on a spontaneous road trip to Cripple Creek. Little did we know we'd be taken back in time to learn about the area and some of the people who once lived there. Gary and Winnie were gracious and hospitable, giving us a complete tour of their beautiful Bed and Breakfast, along with dining...

I love this hotel and I'm sure we are going to stay here again soon. This hotel used to be a school back in the day, we stayed at the principals office, and let me tell you, it was just perfect. The room has an antique romantic ambience, everything is decorated with such a good taste. The room has all...
