A very beautiful location, consists of different houses in different states of repair, so be careful which you choose. i stayed in Shack 5, an unrenovated dilapidated house. No soap or shampoo provided and quite downmarket for the price. No restaurants nearby so it's self-catering only. Could have done with soap, matches for the stove (the ignition switches didnt work), a wiping cloth to wipe down surfaces and instructions for the tv box. Shack 5 is not good value. On the plus side, reception were very considerate and helpful, it's very spacious and the aircon works well. Bedding also clean and comfortable. It is in a lovely spot.
After spending $560pn on the Indulgence and the bad experience we have had. I would NOT recommend this place. Upon arrival, we found a pair of men underwear and a clump of hair in the downstairs laundry bin. No hand towels what so ever, no tiny bar of soap to wash your hands. Downstairs bed was had coils springing out of it and was sooooo uncomfortable. Kitchen utencils were sub standard for a $560pn house. We were prepared to let this all go as we just wanted to enjoy our holiday. Until we got an email 1 week after departing, saying that the back of the TV remote was missing and our BOND would get deducted. I was in shock that we would get charged for a piece of plastic. Im sure the back of the remote is somewhere in the house. I expressed that I want a cleaning fee for cleaning up the mens underwear and hair that was left in the laundry and they refused. Totally un reasonable people to deal with and this place IS NOT WORTH THE MONEY.…
I booked the River House for a week end for a friend's week end away. It was one of the best trips I have ever organised. From the moment we got there the friendly care takers did all they could to ensure we enjoyed our stay. The house was huge and we were able to fit in everyone comfortably. For those of us who bought their kids there was plenty for them to do . My son Jack caught a large fish on the pontoon near our cabin which impressed us all . Just quietly I told him he didn't need to bring the fish filleting knife as he wouldn't catch anything and he proved me dead wrong with that impressive catch. The house had a fabulous view of the river and all the amenities to be able to cater comfortably for a group of people. The BBQ came in handy quiet a few times. Overall we left after having a relaxing few days socializing and catching up with friends. We had lunch at the Pretoria hotel on our way home which was amazing and with the voucher supplied in our deal extremely affordable as well as delicious. We couldn't fault the resort and having such friendly accommodating care takers ensuring we were having good time leaves me only one word to describe the experience- Amazing.…
The property was in the most amazing location,on the most beautiful grounds- with a superb pool and tennis court. We knew that we were booked into a Villa that was not renovated, but were surprised to find just how badly it needed an upgrade- (especially for the cost) Although the property was very clean, with crisp white sheets etc- the state of the building was extremely disappointing! (We found mice droppings in the cutlery drawers and on the plates and bowls) However, the care takers were fabulous and couldn’t do enough for us!
My husband and I just spent 2 nights at Aruma Resort n absolutely love this place. The 3 greatest things about Aruma is the location right on the River, the pristine grounds/facilities and the Caretakers Nikki and Donald. You guys are so lovely and helpful and made sure you looked after everyone so that all Visitors enjoyed their holiday. Thanks Nikki for helping me save "Murray" the cockatoo x Erica & Joe
This resort was fantastic. Luxury in the middle of nowhere. My family of six, stayed in the indulgence house. The place was immaculate. The views were perfect, the grounds and house was clean and modern and there was always something to do. The care takers Nikki and Donald, are really what made this place even more special. They were so kind and helpful. We brought our first speed boat for this trip. And Don helped with everything to really make us feel comfortable out in the boat. Even getting in the boat with us and showed us the best skiing spots. And Nikki, you are a treasure. My son Levi is still raving on about you. We will definitely be back. Thanks for a lovely get away :-)
Our family of twelve people had a fantastic long weekend at Aruma Ski Resort. We stayed in the Executive house which was extremely comfortable with amazing balcony views of river. Great amenities and the whole resort is fantastically looked after by caretakers Nikki and Don. Wonderfully friendly people who go out of their way to make your stay special. Would not hesitate to recommend a visit to Aruma. Thanks Nikki and Don. Kathy W
We stayed at the river house for 3 nights as part of a Groupon deal and were very impressed . The house was basic but very clean and well appointed and perfect for our group of 7 , also in a great spot near the river . We used the fire pit each night and the facilities and grounds were amazing - credit to to Don and Nikki who could not have been more warm and welcoming to us . We used the Pretoria hotel meal voucher that was included the deal and we all enjoyed our meals , we all had a great and relaxing few days away and being on the river is always amazing
We rented one of the older shacks and this needed upgrading, particularly the kitchen. Very comfortable beds, good airconditioning, etc. The caretakers, Don and Nikki, were very helpful and an asset to this complex. The grounds are immaculate and a credit to Don. They created a good impression driving into the complex.
