I don't have the energy to write about this horrid place, just look else where... you'll thank me. If you like dishonest business practices, refusal to answer e-mails, not returning phone calls and hippie communes then of course disregard this post.

Don't stay here if you are looking for a typical hotel or BNB experience. I have read other people say it was a seedy neighborhood. I beg to differ. We used to live in Colorado and it was just a typical Colorado neighborhood. People in Colorado have many more natural yards than in our home state. Most people don't have... More

My husband and I recently stayed with mariann. It was only for one night to get away after getting married but she treated us like royalty. The house and view were amazing. The best hostess😊 we will be going back!

This homey residence was welcoming and comfortable. We particularly enjoyed getting to know our host who was personable, sensitive to our needs and treated all of her guests like family. Our experience here was truly surprising; so glad we had two nights; great break from our routine. Bed was very comfortable. This home is located not far from Manitou Springs... More

We had a bit of trouble finding it; it's not immediately apparent that it's a B&B since it's in a residential neighborhood (yes, you're in the right place!) The name says it all- this is a fun, funky place with the feel of an artists' retreat. Travelers looking for an Econolodge/ homogenous experience won't find it here- they may be... More

We had such a relaxing time there. Very quiet, and was left alone when we wanted to be alone. The owner is awesome and very friendly. The place was very clean and very nice. Would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Got in late but maintained good communication with Marianne, the owner. Gary, resident manager, security, and apparent bartender, met us and was a lot of fun. He helped get us settled in, helped with bags, and when I locked our mt. bikes up in the back, he covered them with a tarp. Very thoughtful. We stayed in the apartment room;... More

It's hard to believe we stayed at the same place as those who highly rate this place. When we arrived and saw the home and neighborhood we wanted to leave immediately but unfortunately had prepaid, so we decided to grin and bear it .Pros: The towels and sheets were clean. The deck view is nice. Cons: This is a small,... More

I was looking for a cool place to host from, in visiting my teenage kids in the Springs. The Portal's upstairs 2-bedroom unit was the perfect fit for me and my kids. Great location, close to downtown Colorado Springs and Old Colorado City. Loved the friendly, fun groove at the Portal. Not stuffy, not formal... Could hardly make myself leave,... More

We were conned into making a reservation here. It is located in the middle of what appears to be a ghetto. Fortunately we arrived late. What we saw raised some serious concerns. First was the neighborhood which was very old with a lot of rundown houses. We had serious concerns about the security of our vehicle and its contents. Second,... More
