We were booked in to camp here for a night in August (to coincide with a trip out to King Reef at nearby Kurrimine Beach) but it ended up pouring rain so I upgraded to a basic one room cabin.

The lady at the counter was friendly and helpful. For $80 the cabin was good, with a double bed, two single beds (bunks), a TV, fridge and kitchen sink with cups and cutlery. The toilets, showers and amenities were communal but the block was only a short walk from Cabin 6 where I stayed and was clean and well kept.

The camping area is quite small but adequate. Prices for an unpowered camping site are $20 for one person or $30 for two people. Given the heavy rain it was a no-brainer to spend the extra $60 to get the cabin and my friends who were camping ended up leaving early.

The location is good – the Tropical Hibiscus Holiday Park is situated in Wongaling Beach close to the Dunk Island Water Taxi and is 5 minutes drive from the Mission Beach main street where dining options are extensive. I drove into town and ordered a takeaway pizza and had a short walk out to the beach before heading back to the Holiday Park. I spotted hibiscus trees here too so the place is aptly named.

Had suuuch a good stay here, we are 3 adults and loved the PROPER pool!! Most caravan parks have small shallow pools but at Hibiscus you could do lengths and sunbath around the side in their loungers. Also the kitchen was perfect and the lounge was sooo welcomed! A sofa and a tv... HEAVEN! And a short walk to the beach and Woolworths, hard to beat! Will defo be back ☺️

We really enjoyed our stay at Tropical Hibiscus Caravan park. We stayed in a motel type cabin. They have a lovely little balcony, with table and chairs and cook top. Bathroom was a generous size and great shower. Lots of cupboard space. We met up with our friends who were in their caravan.

The cabin we stayed in was disgusting. Smelly, run down and the worst place we have ever stayed.
The staff were unfriendly, sarcastic and unhelpful.
The pool and toilets were OK, but that was it.

We had cockroaches, spiders, ants, broken fly screens and aluminium window frames falling out. No hot water, the blankets were filthy and crusty, the tv did not work, the pots had no lids and there was rubbish surrounding the cabin in the foliage.

We have travelled a lot and this is by far the worst we have ever encountered, taking the price into consideration.
There are too many more things to list. If the there were more redeeming features, we may have been more generous with our review. We left early, it was that bad.

Very tired and in need of maintenance. The plumbing in the men's showers is broken and as a result the grey water pours out across the roadway. Very dusty, very tight caravan sites and overcrowded. Little space for car parking. Management very unhelpful. There are much better accommodation options in both Mission Beach and South Mission.

We had a non power spot. Kitchen and bathroom were clean. Pool was really big and clean with long chairs. It was really nice with flowers trees. We paid 33aud and throughly enjoyed our stay. That was really nice. I recommend it.

Pleasant phone manner, great greeting and easy booking in. Were allocated a site without a slab down the back, uneven ground, grey water runs straight into a creek behind vans, very smelly. Vans are packed in to close together, rained heavily and the area became boggy with a few cars becoming bogged. New cabin facilities set high have no steps but still being hired out. Not sure how people were climbing in. Bathroom floors dangerously slippery, no fans of anything to dry hands on. Dump point only gets opened at 9am & 4.30 pm, if they remember to show up on time for people to dump waste. They do have pizza nights, they make scones and pancakes for afternoon tea which is great. Overall this park has some major issues which need to be attended to. Stop being greedy and cramming in people like sardines.

This park is fantastic! Small but great. No permanents...just holiday sites. Close to Supermarket, hotel, restaurants, beach plus starting point for tours to islands etc. Family owned park with great facilities including a wood fired pizza oven on the deck next to the pool and camp kitchen. Great Camp Kitchen, TV/reading room and a Gym! Owners extremely friendly and helpful. Also a resident Cassowary. Came for a week and stayed 3. Great pricing. We will be back.

I firstly came across this caravan park due to trying everywhere in the area, but not finding anywhere that was open after 6:30pm(if you do arrive later than that, you might aswel go straight here), I arrived to town at 7pm. After long search and failing to find anywhere we came across tropical hibiscus at around 8:30pm, luckily not only were they open, they were very inviting staff to which were extremely friendly. After staying in the park it just continued to exceed itself on all grounds, they had a great food preparation area, toilets, lounge room and even a gym. All of which looked very new and modern, not your average caravan park. WIFI is also complimentary, also in good distance to beach and shops! All in all, a great stay and all for an extremely reasonable price! Defiantly recommend!

We have had a confirmed booking for 4 people for a cabin/villa for 7 months. We were contacted with less than 2 weeks to go to have our booking cancelled. We were offered one motel room which only sleeps 2 people or a bunk room with no facilities and as we are all over 70 years old, were not in a position to climb bunk beds. It appears our booking was for a very busy time in Mission Beach and finding any reasonably priced alternative accommodation has been a nightmare. DO NOT TRUST YOUR CONFIRMED BOOKINGS FROM THIS PLACE.
