William Creek Hotel is an iconic in the Australian outback. Our visit there was awesome, it had a great pub feel and the staff and food were excellent. We then went on a flight over Lake Eyre and Anna Creek Station. Our flight got upgraded from 1 hour to 2 hours. The pilots were fantastic. Would recommend William Creek for a visit.

Have just returned home from an unforgettable experience at William Creek. The staff are so welcoming and dinner was delicious. Our highlight was going to the ridge and watching the sunset with fabulous company. This place is unique in every way and not to be missed. Trevor Wright the owner is an absolute legend.

A lovely hotel manager, attentive, and helpful. Breakfast needed to be early as our flight was 8 am. Excellent dinner and accommodation clean and comfortable. It is in the middle of nowhere. Very well organised.

Stayed a night in the campground whilst doing the Oodnadatta Track. What a place. Loved everything about William Creek. The pub has such crazy character. Not a spare inch of space on the walls, the bar staff were great , we had an awesome chat with the curly haired fella he gave us heaps of info on nearby attractions and further on places. We booked for dinner at 6 as it was very busy and the meal came out within 5 minutes! I had the famous goat curry and it was melt in your mouth and great flavour. Definitely not what I’d expected for the middle of nowhere. Alcohol prices weren’t bad either considering the location. The campground was good. Flat gravel car park. We didn’t get powered but there were power points in the camp kitchen and other huts. Showers and toilets were clean and kept nice. Showers were hot. Best kept outback dunnys we have seen! Hope to get back someday!…

There’s literally nothing here but the pub, aviation place, campgrounds and cabins. The pub is small and quirky and the dining room is full of charm. Menu is limited but we all enjoyed what we had each night. A family of 5, we stayed in the two bedroom Camel House which is set apart from the rest of the accommodation. It was really quite clean and comfortable and had an internal laundry (no dryer). Wifi was included and a reasonable speed for how remote the place is. Flies are a pain, but that’s anywhere in the Outback. Just meant we couldn’t enjoy the verandah as much as we had hoped. Had a great flight over Lake Eyre. Highly recommend. It’s quite comical, though, upon arrival at the hotel we asked about flights (note, there is an ‘enquire here about flights’ above the bar) to be told it’s nothing to do with the hotel and they can’t give any information. Thankfully there was a pilot next door who helped and booked us in. No groceries here at all other than bread and milk.…

Room Tip:A very clean & tidy spot with happy faces in the pub! Well worth a visit, just for its isolation.

If you’re looking for a great country welcome. It’s waiting for you at William Creek. It’s a real family affair. They made us so incredibly welcome Our cabin was comfortable except that I managed to flood the bathroom. Rookie error with the shower curtain! The internet is very good. I managed to stream MasterChef. The food is extraordinary. Fancy goat Rogan josh? It’s on the menu. Visit William Creek, the water is hot, the food is plentiful and the hosts are amazing.

We stayed in the Pelican Suites - basically a demountable cabin with an ensuite bathroom. The room was fairly basic (as expected) but very clean. Rooms have common walls but we did not hear any noise from our neighbours. We ate dinner in the pub and it was very good. Had a few drinks in the bar and exchanged tales with fellow travellers. Although there are no other accommodation options within 200 kilometres, it was well worth the effort to get here and experience a piece of the true Outback.
