The rooms are older looking but the staff does a really good job keeping things clean. The only downside to this place is parking can be a bit rough because there is a restaurant in the same parking spot. Front desk lady is very nice and does everything possible to make the stay worth it.

My favorite summer retreat! We've been coming up for 15 years - at least three times a summer with friends and family. The rooms are immaculate, the owners are wonderful. Walking out to the backyard on the river is breathtaking and picturesque! We walk to fabulous restaurants - and shop in the daytime. World class fly fishing and windsurf up...

Very nicely maintained motel with most of the rooms facing the Flying Pan river. You need to make sure yours is one of these rooms as the other rooms are not exciting. Room is basic, but updated to include lots of electrical steps. Wifi, included, is not bad. Staff is a little thin so the check-in time of 3pm is...

Location near Roaring Fork River, can walk throughout historic town. Older double level motel. Alpine connected design. Quiet. Service excellent. Clean room. Comfortable bed. Ceiling fan. Convenient Riverside Grill across parking area beside stream.

My family stayed there overnight on our way to backpacking in the the high country. The room was older, but clean giving a great value for the location. There was a wonderful fly shop and bar/restaurant right across the parking lot. You could walk to restaurants for breakfast or eat at the motel. We would not hesitate to stay here...

This was our second stay at the Aspenalt Lodge. The place is not fancy, but it's clean and a great alternative to pricey Aspen/Snowmass properties. The property has several buildings, but the one on the Frying Pan River is the choicest. Town is quite quaint and has several very good restaurants and two awesome fly shops. We fished the Frying...

We just finished a 3-night stay, in town for a wedding. The Aspenalt is all about the Frying Pan River. I'd strongly suggest a 2nd floor, river-view room. You could almost fish from the deck, the river is that close. There is a bit of noise from the neighboring Riverside Grill, however, they close at 10:00 PM and the river...

We would never stay again. This isn't a place for families. There was a woman next door to us that left her door open as she smoked and drank beer right outside our room. We concluded that she was waiting for "Johns". There was a loud bar across the parking lot. Most of the parking spots were taken with white...

Very clean, fair priced, and for $20 extra you can bring your dog, it's located right in the middle of downtown Basalt, Lots of shops, fly fishing stores within walking distance, and restaurants. It's a perfect location for those wanting to fish the river. Will definitely stay here again.

The Aspenalt Lodge is a simple and Motel like hotel in the center of Basalt. There's a basic simple breakfast in one of the 3 different houses that makes the lodge. The rooms are a a little worn and old but clean. it's easy to find parking near the hotel.
