Boyfriend and I stayed for two nights here, the weekend before Thanksgiving. When I was planning the trip, Boyfriend had 3 criteria: walking distance to Bouchon Bakery, around $200/night, and charging for our Tesla Model S available. We hit 3 for 3 here! This is the ONLY accommodation in Yountville that is just over $200. I was a little wary...

In the Foodies' Disneyland that is Yountville, the Railway Inn is an economical choice (at least in the off-season) to stay overnight after a nice meal and some good wine. It's simple, clean, cute and sufficient for a no frills rest after a long day. And off course it is prime Yountville location easy to walk anywhere in town. In...

My fiancé and I stayed for two nights, and wished we could have stayed longer! The Railway Inn is conveniently located in the center of Yountville - walking distance to all of the restaurants, activities, etc. you'll want to visit - and absolutely adorable. It has everything you need, like a comfy bed, small table/chairs, and nice bathroom. If you're...

Admittedly, our expectations were low, given that NVRI is far less expensive than other hotels in the area. Still, the rooms are attractive, clean, in good repair; linens are great. Location is EXCELLENT, in that we could walk to good breakfast options AND easily stumble home from fabulous dinners. We were awakened early (6:30) by the hot air balloons inflating...

At about $150 per night, the Railway Inn is a great choice for those who would rather splurge on great meals, wine, and activities than a resort style option. A couple of nit picky notes: hot air balloons routinely inflate at 6:30 am in the parking lot about 50 feet from your pillow...the noise will bother some. The units are...

Reasonably priced and walking distance to the best food in the valley? Spacious rooms, comfortable beds, and a coffee shop at the end of the boardwalk? Yes, please. It's a little unfair that this place has to be compared to the $400/night bed and breakfasts/resorts/etc. in Yountville. Basically, if you just need a super convenient, reasonably priced place to lay...

Stayed here on a few occasions. Calling for reservations is quite easy. We were arriving late as we've done in the past. The Inn made arrangements to pick up key at next door gym. No issues. There are a handful of railcars. Unique and fun to see. The rooms are rather spacious. Clean. Well priced. No frills. Great, great location...

The entire town of Yountville is quiet, and the Railway Inn is no different. It is attached to a cute little coffee place (next to room 3), so if you want it to be REALLLLLLY quiet I would suggest asking for another room. This seemed to be the most affordable hotel in Yountville (we paid $160 for the night). Yountville...

This place is great value - and walking distance to lots of places to eat and drink and make merry. The rooms are nicely furnished, if a little chintzy for our taste, but very comfortable, and we were grateful for the golf umbrellas in the rooms as it poured with rain when we arrived. For breakfast, it's almost opposite the...

We were here in November and the rooms were fairly cold. The heater heats up the middle part of the rail car but on the ends where the bed and the bathroom are stay pretty cold. This is definately no frills but has a great location and is pretty decent overall

Located in the heart of Wine Country in the center of the sophisticated town of Yountville, the Napa Valley Railway Inn provides the perfect Napa Valley getaway. Let the Railway Inn's converted 100-year old train cars provide you with memorable accommodations walking distance to Thomas Keller's 'The French Laundry,' 'Bouchon,' and 'Ad-Hoc,' as well as Michael Chiarello's 'Bottega,' and 'Napa Style.' Comfortable, contemporary and convenient, relax outside your room in the evening on our patio with a glass of wine or in the morning enjoy a specialty coffee and fresh pastry from the Java Hut Too located right at the hotel. Outside your doorstep stroll to any of the 11 wine tasting rooms, boutique shopping or world-class dining located just steps away. A mix of history with all the modern conveniences for today's traveler, make the hotel an ideal destination when visiting the Napa Valley. In room amenities include complimentary WiFi, flat screen TV's, inviting luxurious linens and refrigerators for that just purchased bottle of Chardonnay. Hotel guest rooms consist of eight steam-era railcars permanently parked in the center of downtown Yountville in the heart of the Napa Valley. Each of the guest cars offers few hints of their former function: you'd never guess that No. 4 used to carry cattle or that the skylight in No.9 was once a hatch for ice-block deliveries. Providing the best location for your wine country escape, the hotel offers the convenience of not having to get into your car to enjoy an evening out in the best restaurants in the Napa Valley as well as great views of the surrounding mountains and adjacent vineyards during the day. ... more   less
