There were several things on their website my husband and I read that made this sound like the perfect place for our honeymoon. We were sorely disappointed when we got there. The Beach House is in not in "its own secluded meadow" as the website says. The Carriage House is 30 feet from the front door and shares the meadow...

I'm so sorry that you were not happy, but I have to say that a person would have to cross over the line between proper and improper behavior to see into the Beach House. Yes, The Beach House shares our sixty acres with other buildings, but it is not UNDER an overpass. Yes, Highway One does have curves, lots of...

We belong to the German "senior generation" and have spent many years of our life in different (mostly African) countries - under poor and better conditions. So we are able to cope with all kinds of "life-style" . We had many highs and lows in our life. But we can underlign the statement: Howard Creek Ranch is one of our...

Although my first impression was not favorable, aside from the lovely garden the outside is really messy/dirty, I was with a small group so stayed put. Acutally the insides of the rooms are very nice, clean and comfortable and a lot of care has obviously been put into the rooms. The outside is another story. My friends who paid more...

The birds are cliff swallows, not starlings. They come in the thousands on April 7th, and proceed to breed, nest, and raise their young. When they do their morning and evening dance in the sky, they are great. When they poop all over everything, they are awful. It is hard to keep up with them. They nest on the undone...

There are feelings and emotions that are difficult to describe, things you cannot quite see all of when you look at them straight on, and colours you only see in your mind and can never quite capture on the page. Howard Creek Ranch is all of that and more. I read time and again that some people think that hotels...

This beautiful and cosy ranch provides a welcome escape from the pressures of urban life. Yes, as other reviewers say, it is quite remote - and that's one of the benefits. We spent four blissful nights here, with mobile phones switched off, no checking of email, no watching of TV and no listening to radio. We didn't miss them! To...

The Howard Creek Ranch is definitely a special place unlike any other I've stayed at. We stayed there over Thanksgiving weekend and very much enjoyed the hospitality of Sally and Cheryl. The property is on a spectacular piece of land that is so close to the ocean you can hear the waves crashing into the rocks from the room. The...

This was our third stay at the Howard Creek Ranch, our first being back in 2006. We tend to go up there over long holiday weekends, and this year was no different: we spent the US Thanksgiving weekend in the Beach House, our favorite cabin by far. The Beach House is the most expensive place to stay on the property,...

I could never have asked for a more magical, romantic and adventurous 25th wedding anniversary! Sally, Sunny, Cheryl, and every single person there made us feel right at home even though we were 800 miles away. The property itself is breathtaking. The accomadations were stunning. We stayed in the beach house which was a separate cottage. We had a private...

Found it via B&BFinder(we had gift certificates), altho Sally the Innkeeperwasn't sure about accepting the gift certificates, we ended up splitting the 10% cost that had to go to B&Bfinder...so I wouldn't go there with Gift Certs. We stayed in the Waldon Room, and it was nice. Sonny does some very nice detailed work..the shower in our room was neat....

Like many others, I am making an annual trip to Howard's Creek. I live in Virginia, so that is saying something. My first stay was in Lucy's Room, where there is a glimpse of the sea from the large deck shared with the Sun Room. The second time, I discovered the Meadow Cabin, which is the room of my dreams...
