This was previously a happening hotel with a super fun vibe, though on this stay it felt cold, abandoned and impersonal. I understand it must be hard during this time though this was my 5th hotel stay in 5 nights and this was the only hotel that felt this way. When I checked in, I mentioned I was sensitive to noise when I sleep and asked if there was a room possibly not facing the strip, and the gentleman who checked me in was adamant there was no noise (despite facing Sunset). It didn’t feel like I was being listened to or heard. There was (of course) lots of street noise, though as I was only there one night it wasn’t worth trying to arrange moving once I got to the room. The experience with him felt cold and impersonal. The hotel itself is clean and in a happening area of town. It is right in the heart of WeHo near great restaurants, bars and shopping. The room felt boxy, though the bed was comfortable and I appreciated the coffee machine in the room. I was disappointed by the $45 resort fee, that when I asked what it was in regards to got no clear explanation. I am happy to pay top price for a hotel, though if you have a random fee and your team cannot explain it, it is off putting. This was especially frustrating given there was not even a restaurant or room service available. Overall is a clean, bland hotel that once had panache. I would not return.

Hotel's Favourite
Recently stayed at the Mondrian while on business and visited the sky bar. I was absolutely blown away by the service provided by the manager named Jeffrey who went above and beyond for my colleague and I. He was so welcoming, memorable, and funny which helped us unwind from the long busy day at work. Jeffrey was truly a gem and I definitely plan on being back here often. My room was modern and clean, and I can only Speak about breakfast which was spot on. See you soon Mondrian!

I had a horrible experience here, with them carelessly ruining my *brand new* $4,000 luggage. I checked in here while I was in between apartments in LA, for about a week. I had been living in a hotel for about 2 months, but checked out of the previous one because the room was too dark and I needed more light. I brought with me my brand new limited quantity / season restricted calfskin shadow monogram leather Louis Vuitton duffle (in black). I had just purchased it less than a couple of weeks ago in Arizona (Scottsdale) and had only used it once. It was a brand new duffle bag worth $4,000 that had sold out and would not be restocked, and was re-selling online for $5,000+. The bag’s natural structure is very structured, it is not “broken in” like the leather damier duffles. When I checked out, I left my bags in my room and asked them to bring them down while I stepped out for an hour or so. I specifically requested at the front desk that the valet give special attention to the brand new Louis Vuitton duffle, and I shared that the leather was calfskin and creased easily. I asked that they not place anything on top of or beside the bag, as it would ruin and crush the bag and it was brand new and cost $4k. I then tipped the front desk women and the valets each very generously and told them it was to ensure they took care of the bag. I left the hotel, and then came back to collect my things. Much to my demise, they had placed a CVS bag containing 2 bottles of laundry detergent (weighing 10lbs) directly on the bag, and had squished it in between two boxes I had. I nearly lost my mind. I went to the front desk woman, and told her this was explicitly what I asked her to not have them do. She then began to argue with me, and said they didn’t place anything on or beside my bag. I then told her if that was the case, she needed to come over to the bell cart to look. As she walks over to the bell cart to look, the bellman realizes his mistake and quickly takes the CVS bag off of my duffle, and then starts trying to unload the things from around my bags. I stopped him, and told him not to touch anything else (he had already taken the CVS bag off) as I needed to take photos to document as I knew the hotel would try to argue and say they hadn’t done anything wrong. The manager, Robert, comes out. I explain that my mom had just passed away a few weeks ago (which was why I was moving back to Los Angeles to begin with), and this was the last thing I needed to deal with. He offered to pay for the Louis Vuitton store to fix it, and I explained that the leather was now crushed on a brand new $4,000 limited stock bag, due to their mishandling, and I (1) doubted it could be fixed and (2) didn’t even have the emotional capacity to deal with sending it out to the store. Robert was very apologetic, and gave me the contact information for their insurance company and ensured me that their insurance company would sort the situation out. This happened in April 2021. Given my emotional bandwidth being limited, I asked my assistant to file the insurance claim and follow up on it based on my recount of what happened. It was sent to a woman named Dawn who asked me for my original receipt from the store (which I provided) proving how much I spent on the bag, and also documenting the date of purchase and that the bag was literally brand new and purchased a couple weeks prior to checking in. It took Dawn until November 25th to finally ‘finish investigating my claim’ and tell me “she received different versions of my story from my assistant and myself” and to offer me $350, but they would have to retain the bag, and I would not be allowed to post a review of the hotel anywhere. What an insult. Do not stay here. This hotel doesn’t know the first thing about a nice experience (let alone luxury) and for the price point, you can find 100s of other hotels in Los Angeles that will provide you something way better than a not even sub-par experience.

I stayed here for a little under a week on a business trip. Check-in was late and uneventful. The problems began when there was no hot water when I tried to take a shower. I phoned the front desk and was assured it was fixed and to just let the water run, an hour later still no hot water. I wake up the next morning and no hot water. Phone the front desk they tell me it's taking a little longer and it'll be working shortly and this continues on repeat for most of my stay. I managed to get a hot shower once in 6 days. Other things to note were that my coffee pods were never replaced and bathroom towel replenishment was inconsistent.

Do NOT stay here… worst service!!! Horrible management!!! Came here to celebrate our 20th year wedding anniversary, when we checked in it wasn’t even acknowledged. After I asked to see if we could get an upgrade I was told there would be a wait, at this point it was already 3:30 and we didn’t want to wait longer so we took the room we had booked. The room didn’t have any robes or slippers…. Went to take a Shower and there was no hot water. I called the front desk and asked to speak with a manager and she claimed that they were sold out And can’t switch my room. (She was very nasty on the phone) She sent someone to fix the hot water and he said it would take an hour, at this point it was almost 6:00 and we had dinner reservations, after I got upset and raised my voice miraculously a room was available for us to switch to. I had to re pack everything and move to another room that didn’t have any towels or toiletries. Coffee and water was never replenished, I had to keep calling and asking. The room wasn’t cleaned properly there was dust on the furniture and garbage under the bed. Staff isn’t very friendly or accommodating, nothing was done to make up for the horrible service. Our friends that traveled with us, their room was never cleaned and they had no heat. Stay at the SLS in Beverly Hills a MUCH better hotel with impeccable service. At Mondrion you’re paying luxury hotel prices but getting cheap motel service. Never again will I stay here.
