Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed for two nights to see a music artist at Olympic Park, the location was so close and easy to travel from. Unfortunately the downfalls outweighed the benefits, rust and mould in the bathroom, very small room, no toiletries available, not very sound proof. The price was ridiculous for such poor conditions. We did get an early check-in and customer service was very warm. We wont stay again.

We came for the NRL Grandfinal. Angelique at reception was amazing and was very attentive with our needs. In the end, only because our team lost and we were too upset to sleep, we decided to cancel our stay (understanding it was non refundable) and drove 6 hours home to process our grief :) However, we did arrive around 8am and left our luggage with Angelique, we enjoyed the full buffet breakfast and decided to shop for the morning before we left for the day at the Grand final. All staff we encountered was amazing, professional and nothing was to much to ask, however I can not stress, once again kudos to Angelique for being amazing and making us feel welcomed. Location, Location, Location was absolutely amazing and easy accessible to Accor Stadium and although Ibis and Novotel don't have onsight Gym it was comforting to know we had access to Pullman's Gym. We'll book again intime for the 2024 NRL Grand final and hopefully this time round we stay and enjoy the whole experience. Regards Sonia Welch

Great location Parking wasn’t the best people not even staying there could access the park so made it harder to get a park Buffet was a one price only so wasn’t good for people who don’t eat much. Couldn’t just get a small meal unless u wanted to pay the $38

Response from Nathan Cox, General Manager at Ibis Sydney Olympic Park Hotel
Responded 25 Sept 2023
Dear petie241, thank you for staying with us and posting your review. We do have limited parking and on busy days we close it o the general public to protect spaces for our in-house guests. I am sorry if there was an issue during your stay I will review this with the Manager. With the restaurant we do have a la carte, I am disappointed to hear the F&B Manager did not assist you here and provide this option. Thank you again for staying and providing your feedback.

Very friendly hotel. Staff were brilliant and always helpful. Slight delay on meals a few time but in their defence hotel was packed! Rooms clean and tidy. Serviced everyday with fresh towels 😃😃😃😄

I stayed at this hotel as I was attending a convention at Sydney Showgrounds. I enjoyed my stay as the bed was comfortable and the room was nice. The buffet breakfast was fantastic. It is a good location near the restaurants and the train station. The disappointing note is that the bathroom is a bit small. I could barely move in the shower which sucked.

Terrible - waited over 40 minutes for dinner. Tables who ordered after me with full meals, were served first?? I simply wanted steamed veggies & salad?? I should have I ordered the steak - it arrived at an adjoining table long before I got my basic meal. It took 3 requests before discovering my meal was “forgotten”?? A disappointing night, next time I’ll go to a real restaurant!!

We stayed at the ibis overnight for a concert. On arrival at 2:30 we were told that check in wasn’t until 3pm and that we could wait in the bar and the front reception would call when the room was ready, needless to say they didn’t call, we approached the reception at 4pm to be advised that our room was ready and had been ready for some time. there was a concert the previous night and the hallways leading to the room was filthy, you had to dodge dirty plates, cups, broken glass and food scattered on the carpet not to mention the feathers that littered the hallway. The room itself had mould in the bathrooms and the towels in the bathroom had a funky smell to them that honestly smelt like they had been laundered with rotting meat. On checking out the next morning the hallways were still scattered with feathers and random bits of food smooshed into the carpet. Overall it was a disappointing stay and would not recommend.

We stayed here for a nearby festival and we were offered a late checkout and breakfast for a really good price and really came in handy after a long day. Lilly from the restaurant was great, took really good care of us and went out of her way to help us with a question we had and made our whole stay even better.

My son and I headed to Sydney for the Everton vs Celtic game at Olympic Park and chose this nearby hotel. We arrived fairly late after attending an ODI cricket day night game at the SCG and checked in. When we got to the room we opened the door, slotted the plastic key in the light slot and found two people already asleep in the twin beds. Awkward! The woman who checked us in was on a break when we returned to reception and her replacement told us there were no others rooms available. I wasn’t happy and asked to speak to the manager. She arrived and sorted the problem fairly quickly. Our room had been mistakenly given to another pair and we put into where they should have been. We were offered a complimentary breakfast as an apology and accepted it. The buffet breakfast was very nice too. The abundance of Everton and Celtic fans made for an entertaining couple of days. The room was very basic and there were more issues when checking out. I was given a whole new name and they attempted to charge me extra for having the room serviced. I refused to do this and was fairly happy to leave. I can’t imagine any other reasons to stay here other than attending sports events at the Olympic Stadium. The staff seemed pretty clueless and the accommodation is over priced.

Friendly staff at front desk, although queues to check in (tip: check in ahead of time, they will send you an email). Room had windows that opened (loved the fresh air!). Clean room. Tip if you're breakfasting at the hotel, you can ask for a barista coffee.
