I stayed here for a few days as I was traveling and taking a weekend off to explore the near by parks. My company booked this hotel, and at first glance, it looked like a run down motel. But honestly, it’s not the worst place. It did have a funky smell upon entering my room, maybe the outdated carpet and bedding had something to do with it. But thankfully, no bed bugs, as I always check. The shower is a bit short, and I’m 5’6”, so I can’t imagine how it would be for someone taller. The water leaks out onto the floor, so there’s that. I was also woken up by housekeeping when I set out the sign and adjusted the very old fashion door sign that was clearly ignored. I liked this place because it looked cool during the daytime, there’s a large garden and pool but of course it was closed due to covid. Overall, it’s not the best but it’s not terrible. For the price, I’d stay here again, just check your room. The staff is very friendly and accommodating.

222. We had such a long travel day, we asked if a late check out was an option, we were told it was and were marked for a noon check out. We went to the room, it smelled and was not in the best condition but we were so tired, it didn't matter. Our room had two beds, the first one had stains on it, so we checked the second bed, that one was ok. We were so exhausted, we didn't complain. We were only looking for a safe place to sleep so we knocked out. The following morning we woke up to bugs crawling on us!
Seriously, we grabbed our stuff and got out of there, passing a huge bug on our way to the lobby (no joke).
We did manage to grab some pics. More will be posted but we talked to the front desk, David was embarrassed and apologized but told us that we needed to speak to Jay the manager. The manager avoided speaking with us for a day until we called blocked. He finally said he could give us $40 refund.
He didn't seem to have any issue with the fact the place has bugs crawling everywhere. I will be sending videos to the news outlets, people of Visalia need to know not to recommend this location. From far away it gives off such a quaint vibe. I'm so disgusted…..waking up to bugs on me!!! It can still feel them, seriously!
They boasted they serve hot breakfast on their website and all travel sites like Priceline, expedia or trip advisor etc. Where as that service is closed for several months now.
I understand use to pandemic, every business had hard times, but when you charged me(Priceline $145/night). Where as value is $30.
Oh btw, it is NOT family friendly. Several homeless folks pass by the rooms, as there is no fence or defined boundaries for the property. I have empathy to fellow human beings, but u never know what a particular individual would do.
Besides this hotel is next to COUNTY JAIL…GOOGLE THE MAP..
TV didn’t worked. Patio door which goes to out is just a latch, like very thin sheet metal hooks on to frame. With very little force it could be opened.
Don’t bother about elevator, no vending machine. Ice machine had a tag “not working” for 2 days we stayed there.
Overall this is lowest of lowest rated motel/hotel or suite for me in 25 years…

Our room was impeccably clean, the property is very charming, and the staff friendly, competent, and helpful. This might be a first for my experience with motels, but there was nothing at all we could have complained about.
Furthermore, the pool itself deserves a five-star rating. I believe it is about 25 yards long and , while only 3 feet deep on the shallow end, it is perfectly fine for lap swimming, which is very rate for hotels or motels.
We will be back and bring out swim goggles.
