Needing a halfway point for a road trip- and never finding a spot in Tahoe we liked- we thought we'd try Truckee. Thankfully, we found the CHSH and now we won't stay anywhere else. The service was perfect- from my calling to ask a few questions prior to booking to the easy check-in, we thought everyone we encountered was super helpful and friendly. Of course the best part is being dog-friendly - complete with ball, treats, bowls/placemat and dog bed. The hotel is immaculate, Stella restaurant is fantastic, we loved the balcony/fresh air, nice hot showers and the bed was very comfy.

This is the place! Perfectly situated in Truckee just a little off the beat of Old Town and all the happenings in Truckee. I highly recommend staying in this beautifully maintained hotel. There are only a small number of rooms but they are all nicely situated around the courtyard of the lobby and public areas. The rooms are very simple and a bit on the small side but super clean and convenient and the beds feature a European style and application with the linens. The entire property was very clean, and it is very evident that the staff and management are fully aware of the local and state requirements related to COVID-19. Well done! Breakfast and drink available of additional charge but well worth the money.

We live in the Bay Area and desperately needed a get back to nature week. We wanted to find a place to unplug from the news and all the negative things that are going on in our society. We checked into this beautiful location and instantly felt ourselves unwind. The beds were comfortable, the shower was big enough for two, the morning coffee was served bright and early in the outside lobby area and the staff was friendly and gave us great suggestions on what to do and see. We hiked and biked and completely relaxed. All the COVID rules were still followed but in a much more positive way. We had an amazing time and would highly recommend this beautiful hotel. They only allow 75% occupancy due to the virus.

A very nice hotel in a charming setting doing its best during COVID era. Nice large room with terrace overlooking the patio, large modern bathroom. Lovely large shower, no tub. Room has tv, hot water pot, free internet. Small icebox, no microwave. Due to COVID there is no maid service for our two night stay. Bar is open for outside service. Breakfast is usually included as a buffet, but for now menu items can be purchased to eat outside or in your room. Hot tub is closed for now. We were totally happy and comfortable.
