• Arrival around 1:30 pm. • Couldn't' us my AAA discount because the room was booked with Hotel.com. Per the Truckee Inn, I had to contact Hotel.com regarding my discount! • Room 113 unloaded our bags, use the restroom, and notices something flying by the TV, however, could not see anything. Put all the bags on the bed. • Heavy Strong cleaning chemical smell. So, we left the Inn for about 5 hours so the chemical smell will go away. • Retuned around 7:45 pm and found COCKROACHES in the bathroom. • When to the front desk, the girl had to come to see the COCKROACHES and move our us to room 112 which was across the hall. • Room was very dark • Only 2 lamps (one lamp on the nightstand/one on the desk) to light up the very dark room. Lampshades had holes, torn and ripped! • Bathroom door didn't even close • Bathroom ceiling had a large patch job and wasn’t ’t finish painting. • Bathroom fans were barely attached to the ceiling. • Bathroom door did not have a hook to hang your towels/clothes • Put a towel by the front door to keep any cockroaches out. • Keep all bags on desk/tv stand and turn over the garbage can to use for the bags to keep off the floor. • Keep our clothes on in bed and socks to walk on the dirty carpet. • We were so tired and exhausted and there was no other hotel available. We drove for over 4 hours it's nighttime with 2 teenage' girls and me (mom). • We had an appointment the next day at 8:30 am. • Wednesday morning, I Notice something weird with the front door. OMG, there was white paper in the peck hole. • Open the door and you can see the peck hole could be removed and ANYONE COULD SEE US. I HAD TWO TEENAGE GIRLS. WHAT THE HELL!! • When to the front desk at 6:30 am which didn't open till 7 am. When back to the front desk after 7:05 am nobody there however sign will be back in 15 minutes. We put all our stuff in the car however, my daughter forgot her pillow in the room. Called the front desk SEVERAL TIME NOBODY ANWER! Still nobody at the front desk 45 minutes later. We waited in our car, finally, the girl drove back into the parking lot with a cup of coffee and had her open the room so we can get the pillow and left. We had an appointment at 8:30 in which we were late too!…
Worst place I've ever rented a room Toilet broken, ran all night long and couldn't flush. When informed, front desk says"we're fixing it." Highway noise is extreme, especially when drivers are using chains in snow. Filthy carpets, "security doors" to parking area have no locks, furniture looks like props from a Hollywood brawl scene. Breakfast consists of a handful of individually wrapped bagels and 2, count 'em 2 muffins. Coffee made by machine was bitter and undrinkable. What really frosted me as a regular traveler to Truckee, I asked the person at the other end of the phone if this was the same hotel that used to be the Holiday Inn Express in Truckee, and he lied, telling me it was. Not big on wiring such negative reviews, but he conned me and this is the result.
Paired $200 got one night...lights did not work...outlets did not work...there is no staff after 8pm...and as long as no one else is taking a shower, you will have hot water...thus is a motel 6 charging resort prices
Clean hotel, clean room, nice decor, good beds, helpful friendly staff. One complaint was our room had an adjoining door to next room and that room was very load, partying. We waited until 11pm to complain to front desk. They took care of it right away and the room quieted down. Walls seemed unusually thin for noise, but it wasn't an issue once the people broke up the party. Breakfast is grab and go due to Covid. Worked out well. Masks required throughout, no use of spa (a good thing), pool open. Good experience for one night.
The staff is great, the rooms are clean, but the windows are 1960's single pane construction and do nothing to reduce the road noise from Interstate 80. (Seriously, I opened up the window in my room and was able to enjoy fresh Sierra air and the obnoxious road noise did not increase ....) I checked in late and ended up on the highway side. I was talking to a friend who had stayed here in a "non-highway" room, and he tells me the noise is not bad. So, Jeckyll and Hyde - great if you get a good room, but bring earplugs.
